25.01.2022 My Gua Sha Facial Gentle and slow in the under-eye area to protect the delicate skin. A Gua Sha Facial is a simple, yet nuanced treatment - a session with an experienced practitioner is often surprising in the changes to the skin and incredibly relaxing it is. My signature treatment has evolved over the last 4 years, studying with very skilled and respected practitioners. After many hundreds of treatments, I still get super excited to see the results at the end of each sessi...on. My Gua Sha Facial is a hybrid of all that I have learned to enhance natural skin beauty. Who doesn’t want to look like the best version of themselves? @wildling_beauty @britta_beauty If you would like to book in for my signature Gua Sha Facial, phone: 8542 4144
25.01.2022 Adding some Auricular or Ear Acupuncture to treatment. Auricular acupuncture was written about in the ancient classics and can be combined with regular acupuncture. In France in the 1950s, Paul Nogier systematically mapped the body/ear and in the 1970s a protocol known as NADA therapy became widely adopted in the treatment of addiction including smoking. Ear acupuncture uses very tiny needles, can have a wonderful balancing, homeostatic effect and can be used for a range of c...onditions including calming the mind, insomnia, allergies, headache, and pain. Practitioners will often place tiny ear seeds at the end of a treatment as a take home, needle-free version giving a prolonged benefit. If you would like to book in for an Acupuncture treatment or my signature Gua Sha Facial, please call 8542 4414.
23.01.2022 ~Spring Flavours~ . Ancient Chinese wisdom ascribes specific flavours and foods for each season, aligning with nature for optimal health. . Spring is the season of growth and renewal, a time to start moving and sweating more. Our Liver and Gall Bladder Channels govern eyes, tendons and ligament health. Our flavours are sour, but balanced with sweet and pungent foods.... . This is the best time to cleanse, lighten and clean up our diet, to cook lighter and eat less (steaming, stir flying). This helps clear the heavy rich and more congested foods of Winter, to help rejuvenate our cells and organs. . We can do this with dark leafy greens (Spring’s colour), leeks, onion, beetroot, pumpkin, banana, dates, small portions of meat and other proteins. Warm salads are great for this season. . Including Liver cleansing teas such as Dandelion, Ginger, Tumeric or adding Lemon to warm water can help flush impurities from your body. . If you would like to book an Acupuncture treatment or my signature Gua Sha facial, please phone: 8542 4414. See more
22.01.2022 Simple and very wise. Restoring ourselves can occur when we remove stress. Simple foods, exercise, meditation, hobbies all reduce the effects of stress on the body and improve our overall health.
20.01.2022 Cellulite Treatment . What is Cellulite? It’s the protrusion of subcutaneous fat into the dermis, which results in a dimpling of the skin on the surface. It often occurs in the upper regions of the legs. . Cellulite doesn’t discriminate, it affects all shapes and sizes. The Chinese Medicine theory diagnoses it as the result of the dysfunction of the organ channel responsible for nourishing muscle and fat. ... . My treatment takes three approaches: Acupuncture needles to the specific area of the cellulite; body acupuncture to restore harmony in the affected organ channel; and special cupping along the targeted area. . This photo shows the needling to the affected area, small needles inserted at intervals, bringing qi and oxygenated blood to the area, assisting when the cupping is applied. . For good results, a series of 12 treatments is recommended, as well as following simple lifestyle advice. . Packages Available. To book a Cellulite Treatment at my Bondi practice, call 8542 4414 for an appointment. See more
19.01.2022 ~Chinese Medicine Body Clock~ . Take 2 on ST Channel/Breakfast, apologies for the wrong time! . The Chinese Medicine Organ clock, or Meridian clock is not dissimilar to the Circadian Rhythms clock. It is believed that the 24 hour day is divided into 12 two-hour blocks, where every organ has a peak period when qi is at its prime, (conversely each organ also has a low function time). Understanding this can be helpful in making choice for balanced health.... . Between 7-9 is the peak time for the Stomach Channel (Pericardium weakest), our digestion and absorption is at its most favourable. This is why we have always been told to eat breakfast like a King. Modern daily scheduling has made it tricky to make time for this important meal. . Tips for Breakfast ~ Eat a warm (not cold) breakfast with high nutritional value; ~ Avoid coffee until after this time, caffeine can interfere with appetite ~ Take the time to enjoy your breakfast, even for 10 minutes, to prepare for your day. 18.01.2022 A wonderful quote from one of my faves - Dolly Parton. Chinese Medicine believes Wind is the source of a thousand diseases both acute and chronic. Acupuncture is a great way to adjust your sails!
18.01.2022 ~Spring Movement~ . The three months of the Spring season bring about the revitalization of all things in nature. The Yellow Emperor . This includes cleansing and rejuvenating of our overall health and well-being. Our Liver and Gall Bladder Channels govern eyes, tendons and ligament health, which means Spring is a great time to work on old aches and pains. ... . With the rejuvenation occurring in Spring, we see leaves unfurl and branches grow, the same happens within ourselves as we uncurl from our Winter slumber. We should begin our exercise in moderation. Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates are good ways to introduce stretching to maintain flexibility and build strength for tendon health. . Each season has a corresponding climatic nature or condition, for Spring it is Wind. This is why we need to wear layers and a scarf, preventing the cool wind from entering our bodies and causing muscle tightness. It is also no surprise that allergic rhinitis (or hay fever) occurs more frequently this season. Common ailments we see in Spring are muscle tension, sciatica, headaches, and eye issues. . If you would like to book in for a harmonizing Acupuncture Treatment or my signature Gua Sha Facial, please call: 85424414 to book in. @ Tracy Limbrick Chinese Cosmetic Health See more
13.01.2022 CELLULITE TREATMENT . Special bell-shaped cups are used following acupuncture. . I use both suction and fire cupping, along the affected area. Following cupping, the area becomes red, but none of the typical cupping circles. The cupping invigorates and moves the excess through the lymphatic pathways.... . Cupping follows acupuncture - needles are applied in the area affected, as well as on specific points the body to help restore balance and harmony to the organ channels, also bringing fresh oxygenated blood into the region. . For good results, a series of 12 treatments is recommended, as well as following simple lifestyle advice. . Packages Available. To book a Cellulite Treatment at my Bondi practice, call 8542 4414 for an appointment. See more
12.01.2022 The heat in Summer calls for cooling and hydrating food. The season of Fire (Yang) needs nourishment from Fluids (Yin). Luckily Mother Nature provides the right food in abundance for the season - watermelon, cucumber, cantaloupe, berries, peaches, beans, broccoli. While Summer is a time we can eat more cool and raw foods, it’s important to balance with warming foods - adding ginger or cinnamon, steaming vegetables and soups.... Summer Tips - Eat the variety on offer, enjoy all brightly coloured fruit and vegetables. - Cook simply and eat outdoors. - Hydrate, always have water with you. - If you have too much summer heat, watermelon juice - it cools, cleanses and acts as a natural diuretic.
12.01.2022 ~Chinese Medicine Body Clock~ . When discussing sleep, a Chinese Medicine Practitioner will often ask do you remember the time?, if you wake in the middle of the night. . Between 1-3am is the time when your body should be asleep. This is when the Liver organ channel is its strongest in the body and mind (Heart channel weakest). This is the time the Liver cleanses and generates new blood, while processing waste. If you find you are waking consistently at this time, it could... be due to an unbalanced Liver Channel. An unhealthy diet, over-consumption of alcohol or excessive stress can be contributing factors. . If you are waking at this time: ~ It could be linked to deep stress occurring in your life; ~ If relevant, it could mean you need to reduce the amount of alcohol you drink; ~ Consider stress reducing activities such as journalling or meditation; ~ Acupuncture or deep tissue massage would be beneficial to support the Liver. 10.01.2022 Spring Season Favorite season for many, Spring is associated with new growth. Nature is pushing upward and outward to create new life. . As we shake off the effects of winter hibernation, we find a ourselves with a natural burst of energy. .... This energy is Liver energy, and the new growth within ourselves is dependent on the renewal that occurred in Winter. . When Liver energy is balanced, we are able make decisions and begin new projects. Conversely, when we are out of balance we can find it difficult to either make decisions or sometimes use this energy in an excessive ‘work-aholic’ way, neglecting personal needs and relationships. . Spring is a great time to have an acupuncture treatment to help shed Winter stagnation and refresh for Summer. . 10.01.2022 ~ Chinese Medicine Body Clock~ . Umm... about your bathroom habits. . Between 5-7am is often the time we are waking up and getting moving for the day ahead. This is when the Large Intestine organ channel is at its strongest (Kidney weakest). An ideal time when we can physically and mentally let go.... . Getting up, having time to relax and allow the Large Intestine it’s process of natural elimination, is not only a physical release but the time to deal with emotions such as guilt and the tendency to hold on to issues. . Good habits: ~ Start the day with warm water to stimulate bowel movements and get your lymph moving; ~ Exercising in this time can be more beneficial for your body than later in the day; ~ Hold the coffee (until after 9am), allow your body to eliminate waste naturally. 08.01.2022 ~ Chinese Medicine Body Clock~ . Heart time is between 11-1pm, a special and revered time. . Our Heart channel houses our soul or spirit (the Shen). When our Heart is strong we speak and communicate well with others. The emotion joy rules the Heart, elation and joy rather than manic, over-excitement. ... . Because this is the time that the Heart qi is strongest (Gallbladder lowest), it is important to do activities that represent peacefulness, and to reduce stress. Our Heart is working in this time to pump nutrients around the body to provide energy and nourishment, so a good time to eat a light lunch eat lunch like a Prince. We will then be ready for our next block between 1-3pm, the Small Intestine channel, to digest. . During this time: ~ Eat a light, cooked and nutritious lunch; ~ A powerful time for creativity and activities that bring you love and joy; ~ A good time for a nap, or an activity that brings you peace (Gua Sha Facial time!) Needles in the face result in tiny micro-injury and increased blood flow and has the dual benefit in boosting collagen production, as well, the increased blood circulation helps in the natural skin cell renewal process. ... Specific techniques can be used to address aging concerns such as improving the appearance of fine lines and lifting sagging muscles. A Gua Sha facial combined with body acupuncture is a great introduction to the holistic benefits of this inside-out approach to beauty. 08.01.2022 Excess Yang energy and the Fire element in Summer can manifest in dry, hot and red skin conditions. While too little Heat and Fire can lead to swelling and poor circulation, too much can injure Yin and dry the fluids. The Heart Channel function of moving oxygen rich blood throughout the body, helps our emotional well-being as well as keeping our skin soft and moist. When our emotions are in disarray our skin can be negatively affected. Summer Tips... - Drink plenty - water, watermelon juice, green tea. Great for cooling, expelling impurities and calming the mind. - Also have warm drinks such as Mint and chrysanthemum Tea, to cool the body and skin. - Avoid hot, dry foods such as coffee, excessively spicy and ice cold foods that impair the digestive process. - Use a Jade Roller to cool the skin, increase micro-circulation to improve elasticity and make skin brighter in appearance. 06.01.2022 ~Spring Skin~ . Spring is a transitional season - one foot in Winter with one in Summer - a time for growth and rejuvenation. As for skin, it’s the time to slough off the dull Winter skin to reveal vibrant glowing skin. . This season it’s possible to experience blurry or red eyes, dry skin, itchiness or rash.... . Because Spring is the season for cleansing and cell renewal, dry brushing your skin and face is a good option to help rejuvenate Winter skin. 03.01.2022 CELLULITE TREATMENT CUPPING . Following Acupuncture, I apply both suction and fire cupping on the affected area. The cups do not remain stationary, so do not leave cupping ‘bruises’ often seen with traditional cupping. . This video shows fire cupping, done after suction cupping. A flame is used to create the vacuum in the cup - slightly stronger than the suction cup. You can see the area becoming red, the cupping invigorating and moving the excess through the lymphatic pat...hways. . Before cupping acupuncture needles have been used in the cellulite area, as well as on specific points the body to help restore balance and harmony to the organ channels, and bringing fresh oxygenated blood into the region. . For good results, a series of 12 treatments is recommended, as well as following simple lifestyle advice. . Packages Available.
