25.01.2022 AUCTION UPDATE - it’s so exciting and only 1/2 an hour to go. The Red Crown and Kingfisher earrings are now off the market, having reached peak prices. All others still up for grabs (see previous post) - throw your bid in via DM if you haven’t already. And remember, evens bid of 1 dollar could be the lucky bid. We’ll let winners know soon after 1 and then the accessories go offline. 16.01.2022 Available if required: the fires have changed this weeks plan. My girls were with their Dad just before fire swept through Burrowye Station and they are back safe with me now. Yesterday we cleared Studio 1 as it may be needed to store food, water and bedding that has been donated to assist fire effected people. It may not be needed. Either way, we shall soon have a clear space to start hand made clothing production in 2020. We are signed up for some social enterprise up-skilling with ACRE - the Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship in Beechworth. Four years of failing at social enterprise has been a great learning experience. Here’s to resilience and tenacity.

05.01.2022 The small business bushfire assistance package announced by the federal government today echoes what I have been hearing from dozens of small business owners in... affected communities. It’s vital that it flows quickly. The package - including $50,000 grants, interest-free loans of up to $500,000 and tax concessions for eligible businesses - is very welcome. I wrote to Prime Minister Scott Morrison requesting this type of support and I’ve also had discussions with Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and Health Minister Greg Hunt about the fires’ impact. Since December 30 there’s been direct, physical damage in #Walwa, #Corryong and the Upper Murray communities, and extensive disruption in #Tallangatta, High Country, #Kiewa, #Ovens and #King valleys and #Indigo Shire communities. We need to do all that we can to support business and people’s jobs during this initial recovery period and make sure that our priority is delivering help where it’s needed on the ground. It’s also highly likely that fresh needs will emerge in the next few weeks and months as people get back on their feet.
