24.01.2022 Having worked in construction Radmila has had a diverse career and her experience tell us 2 things we need to develop in order to be successful in any field is ...empathy and drive. What inspired Radmila to choose this path: I always knew I wanted to work out doors and I had a passion for ancient history, I wanted to excavate, dig and restore. However due to being a girl and cultural barriers I had to find another way, another path. Instead after moving away from home I became an apprentice carpenter joiner. The trade has set me up for life and continues to be the foundation of knowledge and skills I have developed. But it was my passion to improve women's participation rates in non-traditional trades that inspired me towards a leadership role. Radmila’s Driving factors are: Women telling me that they wish they could have done a trade drives every day me to ensure women have the same opportunity. I want this for my daughters. A passion and love for the construction industry, the apprenticeship system and an equal opportunity for all. The characteristic Radmila had to develop most in her time in the industry is: Empathy - this is something that I had to fully focus my attention to achieve success. By understanding where the other person is coming from, and understanding their position helps me to then develop strategies that assist me in achieving my goals in a mutually beneficial way. What Radmila loves most about her job is: Networking and cultivating productive working relationships. I enjoy meeting people and working through problems and then providing the links to potential solutions. Creating opportunities! Radmila describes herself as: "Can Do" attitude driven to get the job done. #Top100Women
