11.01.2022 Over the past 6 weeks, I've been putting tradespeople through the wringer. I've done it in a very exacting, and yet personal, way. I decided to rip out and rebuild my kitchen. Unfortunately, the carpenter and joiner I originally employed weren't up to the job. Don't get me wrong. What they did was great. It was precisely the job they said they could. Problem is, I want tradies who can go _beyond_ what they say the can, and _beyond_ what I need done. ... I'm now at the point where I have a great plumber, a great electrician, and a wonderful handyman (a retired carpenter/builder). Still to be found - a tiler, a painter, a roofer, and a plasterer. 07.01.2022 I didn’t really need another load of wood, but I couldn’t pass up this bargain. My wood guy (Stu from Central West Firewood and Landscaping, in Kelso) has a great bargain going at the moment. $130 ($140 delivered) for an IBC of mixed box. $140 ($150 delivered) for an IBC of Ironbark. The fact I’ve opened every internal door in the house should tell you how well the Ironbark burns - it’s definitely worth the extra $10 a load! (Pictured is my fireplace full of Ironbark)... 07.01.2022 My preferred painter (Zac) posted this earlier. Because of the nature of the business, invoices from my tradies are slightly more expensive again. I charge that little extra because I find the best tradesperson for you. And that nominal amount is worth the peace of mind involved in having a good, reliable tradesperson, who is fully licensed and insured, and will always communicate.
