20.01.2022 GIVE ME $5....... Good morning people. As you may have heard we are helping young Allira and family. I (Yogie) got involved when I was asked to give them a quote earlier this year to paint their home. Allira's father, Brad, sent me back an e-mail asking could we do only half the work as they had fallen on hard times. I got in contact with the family and well, let's just say I am happy we can help them. There is just one thing I am asking. I know it's been tough time...s in the Mackay district over the last 12 months, but the family is trying to raise $5000.00 to cover costs that pop up out of the blue. With their target within reach, this is the one thing to put the icing on the cake, so I was thinking: if there is 50 people out there that could give a $5 donation, we could make this happen. To get the ball rolling myself and a couple of friends, Matt and Liz Brady, have given $20.00, which means, that's only 46 people needed to reach their goal. For those of you who haven't read Allira's story, and would like to donate, here is the link. https://www.gofundme.com/Allirasfight Thank you all again for your support. I am extremely grateful for all of your comments and likes. Let's make this Christmas a special one for a special little girl, hey? Thanks.

20.01.2022 Our donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation! $24 447.60!

20.01.2022 Hi Guys! Hope your all doing well! I just wanted to update you on our current project. Steering the wheel on this one is Yogie, and the whole team are behind him to help out little Allira and her family. This week we're painting their home, dressing up the kids bedrooms and putting together a great big hamper full of vouchers from many Mackay businesses. Thanks again for all of your continued support!

20.01.2022 Just seen this article in The Advocate, brings back very fond memories seeing this photo!

20.01.2022 It was a hive of activity at Allira's home today, with 8 very busy bees moving furniture back into the home, cleaning inside and out, weeding gardens, dressing rooms and painting touch ups. It couldn't have happened without the efforts of Yogi, Mayz, Penny, Mark, Sam, Robyn, and Allira's dad Brad! Can't wait to see what the kids and Jess (Allira's mum) think of their freshly painted home!!

15.01.2022 What a phenomenal day it has been. 3 painting businesses kindly donated their time to help paint the whole house for Allira's family. Special thanks goes to: (back row) Norm Chamberlain, Andrew Ivory from Icon Constructions (helped with the carpentry), Sam Byrnes (a great labourer), Craig Turner from Craig Turner Painting, Aaron Giles, David Barrett, Gouch from Gouch Painting and All Trades, Matthew Barrett (Front Row) Justin Ingram, and me, Yogie (and Merlin the sausage dog).... Speaking of sausages, I'd like to thank Mark Ahern from Debbie's Seafood dame whom very kindly cooked lunch for the hungry lads. Thanks to Dan Blines from Blines Plumbing and Drainage for helping out with the plumbing. And last but not least, Porters who supplied the building supplies.

09.01.2022 People with cancer are supposed to be heroic. We fight a disease that terrifies everyone. We are strong because we endure treatments that can feel worse than th...e actual malignancies. We are brave because our lab tests come back with news we dont want to hear. The reality of life with cancer is very different from the image we try to portray. This blog post helps us remember that people going through cancer aren't just patients; they're also our friends. Read more: http://roadkillgoldfish.com/friends-cancer-want-know/
