24.01.2022 The 2020 season officially finished at our AGM last week. Thank you to Paul Marslen for his contribution as President over the past two years and his time as vi...ce president before taking on the top job. Under Paul we had 3 of 4 footy grades and 5 of 6 netball grades competing on grand final day in 2019 and through a difficult 2020 we have stayed afloat financially and secured our long term future with our move to Ellinbank. Prior to joining the committee, Marso had been involved in many different match day positions at both the senior and junior clubs as his sons grew up through the ranks and we're delighted that Paul will be staying on the committee for 2021- on ya Marso!! Life member Donna Noonan has also stepped down from her role of treasurer after many years of service and will continue on general committee to help Ebony find her feet. Finally, a big thanks to Matthew Swenson who not only developed our weekly raffle that had been our highest source of income during COVID-19, but also successfully applied for many grants which has allowed us to purchase new footballs and other equipment ahead of next season. Swenno will continue to serve the club in a committee role next year as well. Following the AGM we are proud to announce our committee for 2021- Ray Wall - President Brett Tonkin - Vice President Ella McDonald - Secretary Ebony McDonald - Treasurer General Committee members: Donna Noonan Paul Marslen Matthew Swenson Chris Kyriacou Angie Farrell Angie Blackshaw Kelly Lewis Shae Matthews Jackson King Stay tuned for more coaching announcements in the coming weeks!

20.01.2022 Condolences to the family of Peter Bartlett who has passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Although Petes time at the club was brief with a handful of games in the ressies, he was a much respected and valued member of our club. Top bloke to boot. RIP Peter.
19.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT: Last Monday night, League Executive based on the feedback from all CGJFL clubs met and voted in favour of a change to all age groups. Although no...t unanimous there was a very clear majority in support of the decision that follows the lead of the TDJFL, SDJFL and is in line with AFL Victoria proposed changes as part of recommendations in the G25 report. From 2021, the CGJFL will consist of u9s, u11s, u13s, u15s and Youth Girls. This is an exciting step forward for the CGJFL and a change that will hopefully see longevity and sustainability of children in our great game. 15.01.2022 With the government announcement on the next ease of restrictions expected in the next week, the TFNC committee met last night to discuss our clubs position on... the resumption of season 2020. It was decided that our clubs intention is to field senior, reserve and U18s football teams and A, B, C, D, U17s and U15s netball teams. For this to be feasible, we have seeked clarification from the Mid Gippsland Football Netball League on crowd restrictions, use of canteen & bar facilities, use of showers & change rooms and notification on league fees. If all goes well it is expected that the season will begin in mid-July and run until mid-October. With more announcements coming over the coming days we hope to keep you all updated as information is released by the MGFNL, AFL Gippsland and AFL Victoria

14.01.2022 The call has been made, no senior grade football this year.
13.01.2022 Wed like to provide you with a couple of announcements regarding the Trafalgar Recreation Reserve which were confirmed in the past week: - The proposed multi-u...se pavilion which will provide a new home for our junior football club along with the cricket club, soccer club and boxing gym has been APPROVED Works on this new pavilion are scheduled for later this year with a new oval for the cricket club and our junior footballers to also be constructed in the near future. What a great win for Traf!!! - The main football pavilion has had a significant security upgrade last week which includes surveillance cameras, an alarm system and improved LED lighting around the pavilion. With recorded footage of both floors of the pavilion and the surrounding grounds including parking areas shared with the cricket club and boxing gym, this upgrade should help secure the safety of our patrons, equipment and club memorabilia. Wed like to thank the Trafalgar Recreation Reserve committee and the other clubs that we share the reserve with on their hard work in lobbying for these upgrades. A big thanks also to the Baw Baw Shire and local MPs for securing the funds to develop sporting facilities in our town

11.01.2022 Condolences to Kristine and the entire Sapkin family on the sudden passing of club legend and life member Robert Sapkin today aged just 60. Sappy played over 400 games for the Bloods (40 senior, 377 reserve) from 1978 to 2003 and played in 13 reserve grand finals for 7 premiership (1982, 87, 90, 91, 92, 95 & 99). He won MGFL ressies b&f in 1990 & 91, club award in 1997 and the Barry McKenzie MGFL award in 2003. His dedication to the club was legendary and can't be all listed here but included many years on the committee, ground manager, assistant coach, raffles, runner, trainer and even came back for a cameo in the reserves when they struggled for numbers. RIP Sappy.

08.01.2022 Condolences to the family of well known Trafalgar identity Keith Sewell who passed away yesterday morning after a long illness. Keith coached the fourth grade for six consecutive seasons from 1973 to 1978, winning premierships in 1973 and 1974, both over Newborough. In his final season as coach in 1978 the grand final against Yarragon finished in a draw but unfortunately Trafalgar lost the replay the following week. Keith also played a few games in the reserves (1974, 75 & 80) and served on the committee. RIP Keith.
08.01.2022 Whats old is new with the appointment of Chris Kyriacou as senior coach for season 2020. Fresh from a premiership with NGFL club Churchill where he was assistant coach and earned a new nick name in "Lippy". Kyra needs no introduction to Trafalgar supporters as a former coach and player including 3 premierships (2009-10 as captain, 2012 as playing coach), 2010 best & fairest and MGFL interleague captain and coach. Chris will bring his exceptional experience and exhuberent passion to the senior coaching role and get the Bloods back into finals contention. Welcome back Kyra!

Although it will be the last game for the seniors for 2019, the ressies, thirds and fourths all have secured a top 3 position.
