23.01.2022 Happy Friday everyone! We've been decked out in blue today to recognize "Do it for Dolly Day" - headed by our amazing Nurse Practitioner Elle! Do it for Dolly day is about bringing the community together to celebrate kindness and unite against bullying. In these trying times of COVID-19 it is important to show kindness to those around us, and also be kind to ourselves. If you would like more info on the day look at https://dollysdream.org.au/do-it-for-dolly-day. If you have s...een the Traf News this month there is also an informative piece written by Dr Kunze, Dr Verbeek and our practice manager Julie to keep you up to date. In an update on private Flu Vaccines we are still waiting on a supply to arrive and will contact those on the waiting list when we get it in. We still have government funded vaccines for all age groups. Have an excellent weekend! #DoItForDollyDay See more

20.01.2022 MEDICARE TELEHEALTH CHANGES As of tomorrow (1st of October) the federal government has extended the telehealth medicare rebate until March for those who have been seen at our clinic in the last 12 months. Unfortunately with this extension they have stopped the COVID-19 supplement to the rebate that has enabled us to provide fully bulk billed telehealth in the last 6 months. This means that if you would normally pay a gap when coming to the clinic face to face, from tomorrow y...ou will need to pay a gap for telehealth consultations as well. If you are usually bulk billed (<16 years old, Health care card holder or pension card holder) you will continue to be bulk billed for face to face and telehealth consultations. While we wish we could continue to provide the services fully with the medicare rebate as it stands, the loss of the COVID-19 supplement makes this untenable. If you are experiencing significant financial hardship please discuss this with your doctor at the start of the consultation. Keep well and we look forward to seeing you in the clinic soon, The Team at TM See more

17.01.2022 Hi all, Please be advised that due to COVID-19 self check in via hot doc is currently suspended. It will resume when restrictions are eased. Please call the clinic to advise that you have arrived.

16.01.2022 TM has updated our procedures in keeping with a change in recommendations from the DHHS in regards to masks. As well as our staff all wearing masks we are encouraging our patients to wear masks when coming into the clinic. If you have one please bring it with you, if you do not have one we can provide one for you. If possible, we are also trying to have the minimum amount of people come into the building - so if you are able to leave the kids at home with someone that would... be preferable. We are still utilising our carpark as our waiting room as much as possible, and we are looking into ways to make the ground a bit more steady. Lastly, the government has tightened the criteria for telehealth appointment rebates - to access the medicare rebate you must have been seen in person at the clinic in the last 12 months. If you have not, you can book a telehealth appointment but your consultation will receive no rebate from medicare (so you will have to pay the full amount). Reception can clarify if you are unsure whether you are eligible. Stay safe, stay >1.5m away, wash yours hands and wear a mask if you can't adequately distance. The Team at TM See more

15.01.2022 Hi all, Busy week here - in our four day week our reception team have fielded over 1,200 phone calls and we have given over 400 influenza vaccines! Thanks to our awesome reception and nursing team who have done a great job with a crazy week, which is likely to become a crazy month. If you have had trouble getting through on the phones, thank you for being patient, it will settle eventually and we are doing what we can!. Two days ago we got a shipment of vaccines for those age...d between 5 and 65 who don't meet the government criteria and they are already gone - we have requested more stock and will let you know when we get them. If you have a child aged 6 months to 5 years you can call and we will book you in with the nurses for their vaccine. If you are over 65 we have clinics running to try and give everyone their flu shot; and for those who are pregnant, have chronic health conditions or Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander heritage we can also book you in - all this is limited by what stock we can get. We even cracked a mention on WIN news a couple of nights ago for our Drive-Thru-Flu! Thank you for your patience through this trying time. If you are walking/driving through Contingent St on one of your four reasons to be out you may notice Dr Bear and Nurse Teddy keeping an eye out for everyone - give them a wave! See more

12.01.2022 Hello everyone, with the slight easing of restrictions and the low case numbers we are excited to be able to start seeing some more people face to face in the coming weeks. As of next Monday (the 18/05/2020) when you have an appointment and do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 - fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose or loss of smell - you can have the option of a Telehealth consult OR a face to face consultation. We are not reopening the waiting room ye...t - we are still using the back carpark as our waiting room so please wait in your car and ring when you arrive so we know you are here! If you already have an appointment, or book online, and wish to have a face to face consult please ring to let our admin staff know to update the booking. If you are unable to get through on the phones prior to your appointment you can wait in the carpark in your car and when the Doctor rings you can inform them at the time. When ringing to make an appointment, our Admin staff will ask what type of appointment you would like. All our other processes remain the same, we will still be wearing masks to protect you and our staff. Thank you to all our patients for you understanding and adaptability at this time and we look forward to seeing you in person again as time goes on. Stay well, wash your hands and look after each other. See more

11.01.2022 Hi all, please be advised Trafalgar Medical and Trafalgar Primary Care are currently experiencing phone issues. Our phone provider has had an unexpected outage at their end. We are hoping this won’t take too long to fix. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.

08.01.2022 We have two pieces of Exciting news! 1. We now have plenty of Private Flu vaccines - our long awaited supply has finally arrived and we are running drive-in clinics to support social distancing. If you would like to book in please call our reception staff on 56332211. 2. The big news is that over the last few months the paperwork has been finalised to expand the ownership of the clinic. Joining Dr Brown and Dr Kunze as practice owners are Dr Jemelle Spriggs, Dr Mitchell Kraan... and Dr Pete Verbeek - who are all very excited to help run and shape the direction of the practice in the years to come. As a final point - we are continuing at present with using our carpark as a waiting room, both due to the 4 square metre rule and to keep everyone safe. If however you don't have a car or need a pathology test we can let you into the waiting room provided we have less than 8 people in there. Our back door is still our main point of entry.

02.01.2022 Hello all on this gorgeous sunny day. Just an update for our lovely community - Flu Vaccinations - Our drive-thru-flu clinics continue to be very popular and we are working out way through our lists. Just a note that there is an Australia-wide shortage of Flu vaccines. Our nursing staff are working hard each day to source further supply and at this stage we have adequate stocks of government funded vaccines. We currently have NO private vaccines available to book in (the few... we have left are allocated) but are actively chasing further supply and will inform when more will come, if you would like to be added to the waiting list please call and ask. Phone lines - This continues to be an issue for everyone even after adding an extra line in. If the phone is engaged it means all our lines are being used by our reception staff (our Doctors/nurses are no longer using the landlines) and you will need to try again later, thank you for your patience. Video consults - We now have the equipment to offer any patient a video consultation - if you would like to have one please let our reception staff know or ask the Doctor at the start or your consult. You only need the internet and a smartphone/webcam to participate. As tomorrow is ANZAC day the clinic will be closed. The on call Doctor will be available for urgent phone consults for clinic patients between 9-12, but you will need to leave a message with your name and number and you will be called in turn over the course of the morning. Speaking of ANZAC day the team at TM would like to acknowledge the Veterans and families of Veterans, particularly when we cannot acknowledge in person this year. Lest We Forget. See more
