19.01.2022 Summer doesn’t just mean long days and beach getaways it also means more roadworks. We need the warmer weather for some types of roadworks, like sealing and l...inemarking, so summer is our busiest time of the year. If you see a roadworks sign, please slow down, drive carefully, and follow the directions of traffic controllers and signs.
15.01.2022 When you’re driving through roadworks, it’s important to know the signs. This sign lets you know that there may be a traffic controller with a stop/slow bat on ...or near the road ahead and it usually comes after a reduce speed or roadworker warning sign. You must always follow the directions of the traffic controller, for your safety and that of the workers. Remember, when you see the cones, make sure you obey the zones. See more
15.01.2022 Do you or your company conduct Traffic Management practices within Tasmania? The new Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management was launched in December. T...o support industry in implementing the Guide, we’re holding industry briefings with Dr Dan Sullivan (Austroads Project Manager for the Guide) in Launceston and Hobart in February 2020. You may have attended previous industry briefings on this subject. These sessions are a great opportunity to assist individuals or organisations with implementation of the new Guide. 12.01.2022 This is the mentality of some people we have to deal with on a daily basis. Road workers are there to do there job and feel safe in doing so and shouldn’t have to deal with this type of behaviour The only clown in this situation is you. We all have families to go home to.
11.01.2022 A yellow traffic light means stop - it is not your last chance to accelerate through an intersection... If a traffic light has been green for some time, you... should anticipate it changing to yellow as you approach. If it does change, you must stop unless it is not safe to do so. An example of being unsafe to stop, may include where a heavy vehicle is travelling behind you and would be unable to stop in the same distance as your vehicle. Drivers who fail to stop at a yellow traffic light when they could have safely stopped face a fine of $129 and 3 demerit points Drivers who fail to stop at a red traffic light face a fine of $172 and 3 demerit points Worse than a fine, drivers who proceed through yellow/red lights put themselves and others at risk of crashing and being injured or killed. Stop at the lights and help us keep the roads safe. #TrafficTuesday
