25.01.2022 Already this week more than a quarter of a million people have viewed the three videos of our ‘Your Speed Is Our Safety’ campaign on social media plus many hundreds of thousands more will have seen our ads on free-to-air TV. Please help the TMAA to spread the important road safety message of slowing down through roadwork sites by liking and sharing our videos. It could help save a life. The TMAA would like to thank the Office for Road Safety, as well as the Northern Territory government, the Tasmanian government and A1 Roadlines for their invaluable support of the ‘Your Speed Is Our Safety’ campaign.

24.01.2022 When you’re leaving roadworks, it’s important to know the signs. This sign is the last sign you will see when driving through roadworks. It marks the end of the roadworks and tells you that, after passing the sign, the road’s normal speed limit applies. Remember to wait until you are past the sign to speed up, for your safety and that of the workers. Don’t forget, when you see the cones, please always obey the zones because Your Speed is Our Safety.

23.01.2022 Road users are five times more likely to be killed on rural and regional roads, so as part of this week’s National Road Safety Week we’re encouraging all drivers to turn on your headlights to show your support for their safety. Let’s all shine a light on regional and remote road users so we can protect our mates and ensure everyone gets home safe. Today make sure you turn your headlights when you’re driving on for road safety.

23.01.2022 Keep an eye out on free-to-air TV this week as our three ‘Your Speed Is Our Safety’ videos are now playing nationally. All three of our videos will be in rotation, driving home the important road safety message of slowing down through roadworks. So when you’re next out on the roads and driving through work sites, please always be roadworker aware, slow down and take care. Your speed is our safety.... The TMAA would like to thank the Office for Road Safety, as well as the Northern Territory government, the Tasmanian government and A1 Roadlines for their invaluable support of the ‘Your Speed Is Our Safety’ campaign.

21.01.2022 Despite all their high-visibility clothing, it can still often be hard to see the workers on a busy roadworks site. There’s lots of large equipment and piles of materials which can sometimes hide them from view. That’s why it is never safe to speed through a roadwork zone, even if you don’t see anyone. So when next you’re driving through a roadwork site, please always be roadworker aware, slow down and take care. Your speed is our safety.... The TMAA would like to thank the Office for Road Safety, as well as the Northern Territory government, the Tasmanian government and A1 Roadlines for their invaluable support of the ‘Your Speed Is Our Safety’ campaign.

20.01.2022 Behind the thousands of Australian men and women who work to build and maintain our roads every day and night are families who want them to come home safe at the end of their shift. So when you’re driving through roadwork sites, please always be roadworker aware, slow down and take care. Your speed is our safety. The TMAA would like to thank the Office for Road Safety, as well as the Northern Territory government, the Tasmanian government and A1 Roadlines for their invaluable support of the ‘Your Speed Is Our Safety’ campaign.

15.01.2022 Protecting every life on the roads is important. As part of our commitment to this week’s Nationals Road Safety Week, today we’re focusing on protecting vulnerable road users. Each year in NSW alone more than 1,500 pedestrians are hit on the roads. Please make sure you always slow down in high pedestrian activity areas such as schools, shopping districts and beaches and parks (and of course roadwork sites). Always look out for pedestrians and take extra care around them when driving.

So if you see the cones, obey the zones, because Your Speed is our Safety. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfDraRjMxjw #seetheconesobeythezones #yourspeedisoursafety #TMAA

09.01.2022 When you’re driving through roadworks, it’s important to know the signs. This sign lets you know that there may be a traffic controller with a stop/slow bat on or near the road ahead and it usually comes after a reduce speed or roadworker warning sign. You must always follow the directions of the traffic controller, for your safety and that of the workers. Remember, when you see the cones, make sure you obey the zones.

09.01.2022 There can be lifelong consequences to speeding through roadwork sites which can be devastating for the driver as well as fatal for roadworkers. The lives of family and friends can be scarred forever just because you wanted to save a minute or two on your commute.

08.01.2022 When you see flashing lights ahead of you when you’re driving, please remember the importance of keeping our emergency services, roadside assistance and roadside workers safe. As a motorist, you can help ensure their safety simply by slowing down around stationary vehicles which are displaying flashing lights. They’re there to help, so let’s help keep them safe. So when you see flashing lights, move over and slow down.

08.01.2022 Today as we continue marking National Road Safety week, we focus on the safety of cyclists and motorcyclists. Please make sure you share the roads to actively protect our cyclists and motorcyclists by giving them the space they need to be safe. Today has been declared Yellow Ride Day so if you’re a cyclist or motorcyclist remember to tie a yellow ribbon on your bike or wear a yellow vest.

07.01.2022 Do you ever wish you could turn back time and undo that mistake you made? Turn back the clock and stop that life-shattering event? Unfortunately, none of us can change the past so don't make the mistake of thinking it's safe to speed through roadworks. Always be roadworker aware, slow down and take care. Your speed is our safety.... The TMAA would like to thank the Office for Road Safety, as well as the Northern Territory government, the Tasmanian government and A1 Roadlines for their invaluable support of the ‘Your Speed Is Our Safety’ campaign.

02.01.2022 Would you rather be hit by a car travelling at 40km/h or 100km/h? Pretty easy choice, isn’t it. Speed limits through roadwork sites are reduced for a reason. The difference between a car hitting a worker at 40km/h or hitting them at 100km/h can literally be the difference between life and death. So when you’re next out on the roads and driving through work sites, please always be roadworker aware, slow down and take care. ... Your speed is our safety. The TMAA would like to thank the Office for Road Safety, as well as the Northern Territory government, the Tasmanian government and A1 Roadlines for their invaluable support of the ‘Your Speed Is Our Safety’ campaign.

02.01.2022 There is a bond that unites the traffic management industry across the country. It is the safety of all who work on roads and projects across our industry. We are united this week in grief following the tragic loss of a traffic controller in Western Australia. Michael Janssen passed away last week, after fatal injuries. We offer our support to his family, colleagues and friends as we try to come to terms with what has happened. If you wish to add your support to Michael's fam...ily, you can follow the link below. Sadly within our industry, we have had many incidents and fatalities across the years. To all those families and friends this is a reminder of their loss. TMAA is vocal to government when it comes to demanding safer practices by drivers and the motoring public in and around roadworks. We will continue to demand that traffic controllers and site signage are obeyed because #Yourspeedisoursafety so #slowdown. https://au.gofundme.com/f/young-traffic-controller-run-down
