We also understand that race directors may not know if their events are going ahead or if they can be postponed till later in the year. While it is TRAQ's intention to proceed with the Championships in some form, it reserves the right to modify the Championships in any way it deems necessary or cancel it if need be. TRAQ will be in touch with the event organisers, and the TRAQ Management Committee will decide on the future of the 2020 Queensland Trail Running Championships as soon as there is sufficient information available to do so. TRAQ really appreciates your patience in this matter and hopes you understand keep an eye out on our website or our social media pages to keep up to date with any further info!

14.01.2022 Important updates: coronavirus (COVID-19 ) TRAQ acknowledges that we are living in uncertain times and is committed to adhere to the advice and requirements of state, national and international health authorities to assist in the community response to slow down COVID-19. We encourage trail runners individually to comply with the federal and state government COVID-19 requirements to reduce the spread of the virus.... Please think about the intent of the measures and stay away from areas that have been closed by authorities, because every count of trespassing brings us closer to more closures, which is not in the interest of the Trail Running Community. Generally: only go out by yourself or only with one other person (unless they are from the same household) and comply by the social distancing don’t go into areas that have been closed (information on QPWS closures and SEQ Water closures) stay within your local area (if you have to drive it is not local) so perhaps run from home, cycle from home, use your toilet at home before you go for a run, as toilet blocks will be closed. https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/covid-19/ https://www.seqwater.com.au//seqwater-sites-will-close-all Please assist and be a part of the solution, stay safe and be safe. 07.01.2022 TRAQ ANNOUNCEMENT TRAQ acknowledges that we are living in uncertain times and is committed to adhere to the advice and recommendations of state, national and international health authorities to assist in the community response to slow down COVID-19. TRAQ is determined to help flattening the curve of numbers of people being infected, which is essential in assisting the broader community and the health systems to cope with the effects of the virus as the numbers increase expon...entially. Key to flattening this curve is to minimise social contact and gatherings. As events are gatherings, whether big or small, TRAQ has decided to cancel its Washpool (29 March), Pinnacles (5 April) and Brisbane Trail Marathon (3 May) events for this year and hold them again next year. TRAQ is sorry for the disappointment this may cause, but sees it as the only way to effectively meet its duty of care towards its participants, volunteers and spectators to keep them safe and to slow down the spread of the virus. TRAQ hopes you understand and will send an email to the people who have registered for these events with the choice of a refund or a transfer of the registration to next year's event. 06.01.2022 We understand that you may be curious to see what events will be on once the situation around COVID-19 eventually eases. At this stage, we at TRAQ don't want to rush into options before we are more back to normal, and do not plan to have our events on this year. This includes Walkabut Creek and - announced earlier - Lake Manchester. We plan a full set of events, possibly with a bonus ending, for 2021. See our 'events' tab with the days we aim for. Stay safe, train well.
04.01.2022 TRAQ is monitoring the current situation regarding COVID-19. At this stage, it is uncertain whether it is safe and wise to hold our Lake Manchester event as planned. Hence we have decided not to hold the 2020 event. Keep being active and keep in touch with each other.
04.01.2022 If you’re planning on hitting the trails this weekend (and we recommend everyone to #stayhome), don’t got to SEQ water land! Stay safe out there and remember your social distancing!
02.01.2022 We have an exciting weekend ahead with the announcement of Covid-19 Roadmap to Easing Restrictions Stage 1 commencing from midnight tonight. With non contact informal activities permitted for up to 10 people means we are able to run with our running buddies again. We need to ensure we all comply by the the guidelines issued so as we are able to move forward to the next stage bringing us closer to our first event start lines.... Individuals need to take care and ensure social distancing and hygiene measures are followed. Please ensure you read and comply by the Roadmap to easing restrictions guidelines. https://www.covid19.qld.gov.au///sport/clubs-organisations Take Care and Happy Trails TRAQ Committee
