25.01.2022 Based on the latest advice from the federal and state governments and health authorities on outdoor gatherings, the Trailsplus Maroondah Dam Trail Run has been postponed. If an appropriate date cannot be found, then it will be cancelled for 2020. The registration system remains suspended. Trailsplus continues to monitor the requirements and advice of the Australian and Victorian governments to combat the increasing spread of Coronavirus and we will continue to make decisi...ons based on this advice. These are unsettling and worrying times for everyone, and Trailsplus is adapting to the changes with common sense and careful consideration. 24.01.2022 We are so looking forward to 2021. 2020 was not what we envisioned. Bushfires and COVID, have caused so much stress for so many. Sure it's been challenging to stay positive and for the most part we have, especially when planning and looking forward to the New Year of events in 2021. 10.01.2022 Well after celebrating finally getting on the trails new years eve, thinking we were going to have more adventures in 2021 then 2020, its extremely disappointing to be announcing that the first race for 2021 Bogong to Hotham has been cancelled. With border restriction movement effecting participants, safety team, volunteers and team members, the event can not safely proceed. Many factors have brought us to this decision. We look forward to adventures in other locations on our calendar including some new ones in the making. 07.01.2022 A brief update on our plans and hopes moving forward. Our first hope is that you are all keeping safe and well. And a big shout out to all who have been calling and sending messages of support during these challenging times, your support and friendship is greatly appreciated. Trying to answer the most common question we get emailed/asked remains difficult, that being "Is this Race on or what is the scheduled new date"... While we cant be 100% certain, we want you to know that we are preparing as best we can for when the time comes that we can safely resume our adventures and share them with you. As a result of the great job we have all done in demolishing the curve, we plan to open the You Yangs event soon. Ticket purchases will be 100% refunded (if the event does not proceed as scheduled) for those entering in the preliminary stage while there is still a chance that restrictions prevent it from happening as scheduled. We are planning on very reduced numbers that could be as low as 100 on Saturday and 100 on Sunday for initial spots in limited distances. The information provided today is in response to several requests for updates and we hope, while still with some uncertainty, it goes someway to answering the main question in relation to our planning at least for the next event. 07.01.2022 July 14th Update I hope this brief update finds you well. We would like to be sharing some better news with you all,... However, as we all know, we are currently living with extremely challenging and changing times. With the recent Victorian Government announcements and area lockdowns lasting until Thursday August 20th, it has become clear that the Wonderfalls trail run will not be able to proceed on the Scheduled date of August 29th. There are many factors that require consideration around events proceeding, Government Laws Land Manger Permits Council Permits To name a few and we are continually preparing and updating our internal procedures to safely resume when it is possible to do so. We continue to have a positive outlook on what the future will look like and with this positivity we are still working hard to bring some trail adventures to you later in 2020. If things dont improve then whats the worst thing in regard to preparing, all our hard work will still have been put to good use when we are able to resume safely on the trails. We will not stop working toward resuming adventures just because it seems too hard, we will put the time and effort into getting back on the trails. While we totally understand how challenging it is, we are prepared to work toward new adventures as soon as we can. Currently we are working with Parks Victoria to select a rescheduled date for Wonderfalls, as well as Maroondah Dam, Mt Macedon and the You Yangs. If dates can be approved, we will work with all authorities to safely get back to the trails, most likely between October December. If you have specific questions, please email us as this is the guaranteed method of a reply. Like all events since March Wonderfalls has suffered the COVID postponement/cancellation. We would have truly loved to spend the weekend with so many of you, but we wait patiently until the next opportunity presents to safely return to the trails. We havent stopped planning and working toward sharing the trail running adventures and experiences with you ...and while our State government continues to refuse to outline plans and provide some guidance it makes it almost impossible for good pre planning to take place, we are doing our best so that when they finally believe it is safe to gather with Covid safe plans in place we will be as ready as we can be. 04.01.2022 June 29th Update While things had been looking like getting back to some level of normality over recent weeks with the likely hood of outdoor gathering size limits allowing some events to safely resume in the near future. Recent announcements have paused any progress and delayed the resumption of experiencing trail running with us a little longer. As always the health of our runners, volunteers and supporters is our priority. We are continuing to communicate with and work to...ward a resumption as soon as the advice from the authorities allow us to safely do so. The current status July 18-19 You Yangs - Delayed opening (rescheduled date TBA) August 29th Wonderfalls - Entries Capped, Suspending entries once our stage one limit is reached. We will reopen entries if advice indicates more numbers are likely to be safely catered for and allowed under health department and government advice. Date may be changed to September/October September ( Phillip Island ??) September - rescheduled Mountain event October - Rescheduled Mountain event October - Halloween, see separate announcement (soon) November 8th - Marysville OPEN soon at this stage we hope events scheduled beyond October will remain as scheduled all be a little different to past years.
