24.01.2022 And he’s done, another LOSER drops out. There’s only 4 left on course now. Neil MacNeil was looking pretty good going out for lap 26 but made the smart decision to turn back after starting to vomit. What an impressive effort especially with the heat that was about today. Once again it was a pleasure to crew for this fantastic gentleman. On behalf of your TTT family, congratulations on another amazing effort Neil. I think I speak for the rest of the team when I say you inspir...e us with your courage, heart and humility. It’s not too late to support Neil. If you want to make a donation for his efforts follow the link below. https://lungfoundation.grassrootz.com/trail-to-/ttt-neilmac

The Trail To Triumph committee are extremely proud of the event affectionately known as Tonys Journey. We are humbled by the people involved each year and we are incredibly grateful to our sponsors and supporters. We look forward to taking you on a journey like no other this year and helping you create memories you will have with you for the rest of your lives. 14.01.2022 25km into Day 3 and the heat is really picking up and pushing the runners. Everyone is in amazing spirits with the whole support team now along the journey. https://lungfoundation.grassrootz.com/trail-to-triumph
14.01.2022 Yesterday a rather large group of Trail to Triumph runners, support crew and virtual runners ventured down to Augustine Heights parkrun to celebrate Darren Ren, one of our finishes of 2019, 200th Park Run. Can you guess what he chose the theme to be? Trail to Triumph and Aston Villa FC which the TTT colors were chosen from for the late Tony Britton. It was an amazing sight to see so much claret and blue running around the course. You can still donate to help us raise $70k for the lung truck at https://lungfoundation.grassrootz.com/trail-to-triumph Neil Pohlman

14.01.2022 18km into Day 1. Runners looking strong.
13.01.2022 On behalf of Trail to Triumph, we would like to let all of our followers know of an incident that has occurred on the evening of Day 1 of the event. Our bus, while traveling back from the 90km checkpoint and carrying nine of our part-time runners and support crew, unfortunately had to make an emergency manoeuvre to avoid a collision. As a result, it ended on its side and to the left of the road. Luckily, no injuries were sustained by any of our crew or runners, mainly than...ks to our driver Keith Neales vigilance who avoided a much more serious incident with their quick thinking and skilful driving. Safety is our top priority and this incident led to a number of team decisions about completing the full section of the morning of Day 2. In light of the previous evenings event leading to investigations into the early hours of Saturday morning, the decision was made to cancel section 1 of Day 2 for the safety of our crew. However, the runners increased the length of their rainforest run through Eungella and still completed a large amount of kms through Day 2. As the Trail to Triumph team always say, we are running for your donations and we have to earn it and, although the section was cancelled, the team that are out there on the roads for these 2.5 days are still most certainly earning it in so many ways. We love all of our TTT family and we are so thankful that everyone is safe. You can show your support towards this amazing team by donating to help us purchase a Lung Truck and join in our fight against Mesothelioma. It will mean so much to them, particularly after a very difficult 24 hours. https://lungfoundation.grassrootz.com/trail-to-triumph
13.01.2022 Day 1 finished with 6 runners completing day 1. They ran 113km over 18 hours. The runners and exhausted and hurting. They will head back to prepare for another early wake up to complete 89km. Thank you for everyone who has donated. We still have over $34,000 to raise to please donate sat https://lungfoundation.grassrootz.com/trail-to-triumph

12.01.2022 You know someone respects the event and the struggles they go through to finish it when they do this. Evan Oscar Smith made Trail To Triumph his first ultramarathon and 100% earned the finish. We watched him finish day 1 broken but with his incredible mindset and the amazing work of our Paramedic team Glen van Emmerik and Eeva Tampel and of course our super crew Evan smashed the pain barrier to finish all three days. Congratulations Evan, you were so inspiring to have on th...e team with the courage you showed us. I’m looking forward to getting back to training with you and going again next year. Mat
11.01.2022 71km of day one finished with just 1 more marathon to go for the day. The ground temp has increased to 56.1C
11.01.2022 Our good friend (and TTT finisher) Smiley Runner Ren has set up Trail to Triumph as a club on Run Down Under. If youve never heard of Run Down Under have a look at it. Its a fun way to track km as you run virtually around the country, at the same time supporting your primary club. Run Down Under has also supported TTT for a few years now. This year they tracked our virtual runners along the course we run from Moranbah to Mackay, such a cool idea. Check out the link below. http://www.rundownunder.com.au
10.01.2022 The runners and support crew have been very well looked after by our amazing kitchen crew Sirle and Steve working tirelessly day and night. The food has been amazing and refueling.

09.01.2022 With the change to the start of day 2, the runners embarked on a different track through the trails of the Eungella Forest. The scenery was amazing and the forest was humid. Some of the runners had leeches and Tim managed to have a yellow face whip snake wrap itself around his leg while running.
09.01.2022 Its shocking that approximately 4,000 Australians die every year from asbestos related disease thats twice the annual road toll. And in parts of the country, as many as 1 in 3 homes still have asbestos-containing materials, Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency CEO, Justine Ross https://www.asbestossafety.gov.au//national-asbestos-aware

01.01.2022 I would like to apologise for the lack of updates and communication so far from myself and the Trail To Triumph committee. With less than five weeks until the proposed start of our the annual TTT event we are still yet to finalise everything we need make this run successful. Due to COVID-19 it is more difficult to gain approval for the event, get the correct insurance and understand the changing conditions we currently live in. We endeavour to follow all COVID-19 rules and re...gulations in order to minimise risk of transmission to our team and anybody that comes into contact with us over the weekend of October 9-11. We have therefore needed more time to ensure we cover all bases. We will have a run that weekend from Nanango to Springfield Central and we will raise awareness of mesothelioma, asbestosis, silicosis, black lung and other dust and occupational lung diseases. We will raise funds towards the building of our dream Lung Truck and have the Trail To Triumph logo driving around our highways. The downside to the COVID-19 pandemic for TTT is that we may be heavily restricted in the number of people allowed to participate in the weekend. We are working with the appropriate people to ensure we have the maximum number we can have so that as many of you can be a part of Tonys Journey this year. I would like to specifically mention Charis Mullen MP - State Member for Jordan and thank her for her continued support of TTT and her help in supplying us with answers to our questions. I would also like to thank the Lung Foundation Australia for their commitment and financial support in getting our event up and running. With this in mind, when the registrations go live shortly they will be regarded as an application rather than an official registration. We have over 70 expressions of interest this year, by far the biggest number in our seven year history. Unfortunately, current restrictions suggest we cannot have that high a number in our team. Hopefully we see a very quick change and everybody can participate. We are also chasing an insurance company that will cover our virtual run this year so we can continue to have people all over the world participate. Thank you for understanding our situation and continuing your support of Trail To Triumph. Our team is completely humbled by the support shown to us and we promise to provide you with the best experience we can whether you are joining us on the road or following along online. Mat Britton President and Founder of Trail To Triumph
01.01.2022 We would like to introduce you to our new website designed and built by One Point Solutions. A massive thank you for your professionalism, attention to detail and patience as we went through the build. And I think everyone will agree it looks fantastic. Dont miss the 2019 short film at the bottom of the home page. In great news this also means that Applications for this years event are now available. We will need to close these applications on Friday evening so please get i...n quick to ensure your spot for this years event. At this stage we cannot accept applications for virtual runners as we are still trying to find a company to insure this component of our event. As soon as we have VR insurance we will open applications and post it up. Click on the link to the website and click on the Application to Participate button. We have also opened our fund raising page for the year which is also available from our website home page. Click on the Donate Online Today button to donate. We cant wait to have a run with you all on the weekend of the 9/10/11 October.
01.01.2022 Last stage of Day 2 heading to Pinnacle Pub. The temperatures took its toll on a lot of the runners and taking out another full time runner. There were many broken runners using ice compresses and some emotional boosts. A tough stage for everyone.
