17.01.2022 Sydney Doctor Dan Suan, a Clinical Immunologist & Researcher at the Garvan Institute, provides the following optimistic approach to Australia's response to COVID-19: 1. Do not leave your home if you do not need to. The safest place for you and your family in a viral epidemic is in your own home. 2. If you are able to work from home, do so. If you are a boss, please let your staff work from home as much as possible. Australians are smart, you'll work it out.... 3. When you go out, do not touch another person, in any way, unless you have to. Keep your paws to yourself . 4. When you go out, do not touch any surfaces that you do not need to. Keep your paws to yourself . 5. Cancel all non-essential meetings, find alternative ways to speak and meet online. 6. Wash your hands frequently, especially the moment you walk in your front door. 7. Don't touch your face. 8. Clean your phone several times a day, and don't leave it lying around when you are outside your home. 9. Find smart ways to support local businesses (buy a voucher online), artists (buy a song online ), but do it from the safety of your own home. 10. Talk to your friends, check on vulnerable people, listen to music, make memes, dance in your home, remember to laugh 11. Speak to every single person that is close to you, help them to understand what this social isolation "mode" is, why it is so important, and help them to start doing it, right now.
17.01.2022 DISPOSABLE FACEMASKS (SOMETIMES CALLED A SURGICAL MASK) are loose-fitting; most facemasks do not effectively filter small particles from the air and do not prevent leakage around the edge of the mask when the user inhales. Does NOT provide the wearer with a reliable level of protection from inhaling smaller airborne particles and is not considered respiratory protection. The role of facemasks is for patient source control, to prevent contamination of the surrounding area when... a person coughs or sneezes. Fluid resistant and provides the wearer protection against large droplets, splashes, or sprays of bodily or other hazardous fluids. Patients with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 should wear a facemask until they are isolated in a hospital or at home. Protects others from the wearer’s respiratory emissions. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) does not currently recommend the general public use facemasks. Instead, CDC recommends following everyday preventive actions, such as washing your hands, covering your cough, and staying home when you are sick. BTW; Healthcare Professionals discard facemasks after each patient encounter, and when mask becomes wet or visibly dirty.
