13.01.2022 Here are six core exercises that are a bit unconventional but have a lot of benefit in terms of building up total body, functional strength! - 1Diaphragmatic Breathing - breathing is absolutely the foundation to everything that we do and crucial for optimal core functioning. For this drill, lay on your back with your feet up. Make sure your lower back is pressed down towards the floor. Breathe in slowly through your nose and slowly out through your mouth, and do your best t...o have your air get sent down low to your stomach rather than your chest. Placing your hands on your stomach and chest can help give you feedback to know where your breath is going. - 2Stability Ball Deadbugs - lay on your back with your knees/feet and arms up to the ceiling with a stability ball in between them. Push your rib cage/lower back down toward the floor and squeeze the ball tight with your knees and arms. Slowly lower opposite arm and leg to the floor. Perform about 6 each side. - 3Side Plank with Top Knee Tucked - this is a spin on the classic side plank that places a little more stress on your down hip and obliques due to one of your legs no longer contributing to support your body. - 4 Renegade Row - a super challenging exercise that you can actually perform without weights as well. You’re going to be in a push up position with your feet about shoulder width apart. From there keep your hips square to the floor and row one or one dumbbell up by your side. - 5Suitcase Carry - grab a kettlebell/dumbbell, stand tall, and walk slowly in a straight line being careful not to flex or lean to one side. - 6Paloff Press - grab a band/handle from a cable machine and slightly bend your knees.
