08.01.2022 MSPO 2020: New Police Helicopter in Patrol Configuration During the 28th MSPO, the first light single-engine helicopter, Bell 407GXi, was accepted for service by the Polish Police Headquarters. It is one of the three machines purchased at the beginning of 2019. The helicopters were retrofitted with a multispectral EO/IR camera and searchlight obtained under a separate procurement. The imagery was vital in the deployment of firefighters and water bombers. The thermal imager measures temperatures in real-time while the UV camera detects flames above a certain temperature, thus showing the hottest part of fires.
