22.01.2022 It's finals time in the SMMLTA! Week 1 has been completed and all results were positive excluding The Fire in Div 1 who had a tough loss to Reade Park. Bad luck lads! Well done to those who are through to the GF. Only 1 team is fighting for a position in the GF this week, which just happens to be my team in Div 2. We're playing at Reade Park and will be a tough ask. Reminder the annual AGM is at 1:30pm this coming Saturday the 6th of April. The meeting is primarily to elect committee members for next season and show your appreciation for the work done by this years members. Please attend if possible. Look forward to seeing you there!

04.01.2022 Congratulations to all teams who competed in their Grand Finals last Thursday & Saturday. Results were mixed, with all teams giving it their best. Womens Midweek Grasscourt Tennis Association: Our Div 2 team - Tranmere Blue (Julie Oldfield, Kathy Parker, Cathy Potts, Sally Noble & Marilyn Van Hout) unfortunately went down to Xavier 4 sets to 1. The ladies battled hard and will be hoping to go one step further next season!... Saturday Morning Mens Lawn Tennis Association: Tranmere Lambs took it up to the highly fancied Peake Gardens/Hawthorn but ultimately came up just short, going down 1 rubber to 2. The team of Henry Lamchinniah, Les Cooper, Kym Sladden and Rod Rocket Warren were drawing positives after the match, with Les quoting Henrys addition provided a real spark to the team, and although we ultimately fell short, our underdog win against the highly fancied Tranmere Max during the season was one of the many highlights. The Lambs will not be silenced!! In the Division 1 Doubles Only Grand Final, Tranmere Max were carrying the weight of expectation on their shoulders, being the clear standout team throughout the season. The big four comprising of Greg Parker, Shane Raymond, Andrew Thiel & Luke Markey, who gave the 100+ strong crowd a doubles exhibition, defeating Millswood 3 rubbers to 0, with the loss of just 6 games over 6 sets! Captain Greg Parker was proud to lead such a strong team throughout the season. We had to ignore external noise from fans and bookies installing us as short priced favorites - anything can happen in a GF, and Im proud of my boys for getting the job done. Last but not least, in the Division 1 Singles & Doubles Competition, Tranmere Max (Troy McNeil, Kane Nurton, Guy Murray, Patrick Klaosen & Zac Nurton) were hoping for redemption after last years disappointing straight sets exit from finals. They were up against a damaging Reade Park side, who on their day had the talent to beat any team on the court. After two important doubles wins to Tranmere, Reade Park squared the ledger in the opening two singles matches, leaving the remaining two singles matches to decide the champions for 2018/19. Club stalwart Guy Mr Consistent Murray came through two close sets 6-3 6-4, with Patrick Big Red Klaosen fighting hard from a slow start to take the chocolates 6-4 6-2. This gives Tranmere Max its 6th premiership in the last 8 years, with captain Guy Murray saying post match After last years disappointing exit, we wanted to make amends and did that today. Everyone played their role throughout the year to get us into this position and we fortunately took it with both hands. That concluded another season at Tranmere, we look forward to another bigger and better summer! There will be a number of upgrades happening around the club in the off season, which we will keep updated on here.

02.01.2022 Tranmere's Annual AGM will be held on Thursday 30th July, 7:00pm at the club. Anyone is welcome, we are always excited to see new faces on the committee!
