14.01.2022 Horses have strong instincts and senses - yesterday I was treated to an #equineassistedlearning experience with @anitawilson.herbalist in her paddock with her beautiful mare Carey #duffysforest. It was a full immersion into their world and a surprisingly deep learning experience, I continue to reflect on what I learnt. It was awesome horses instincts are fine tuned to identify our authentic intent horses can only tell the truth no fooling them. Carey could tell whe...n I was confused, and unsure, plus a little nervous in moments She is very big at 17 hands Anita organised a ‘journey’ for me to lead Carey through a range of activities in the paddock - not so easy at first and as I relaxed and connected with her we made lovely progress. As I bonded with Carey I could feel her presence more strongly and it was a truly amazing afternoon delivering so much self reflection fodder If you are looking for an unique experience I would love to share Anita’s details with you! 08.01.2022 When their storm - Meets our Calm. Co-regulation occurs. Is that not a wonderful experience? Either way ... Maybe the storm within you calms down when you are connected and co-regulating with another nervous system. Maybe you have a calmer state and are able to help the other down-regulate, 2 simple tips to become CALM: become aware of how you are breathing, notice your chest rising and falling, part your lips a little and lengthen your exhalation so that it expands whilst keeping the inhale smooth and steady- repeat 6-7 long exhales place your feet flat on the floor / ground - shoes off if you can. Looking at your feet press then firmly and gently into the ground, as if you were creating an imprint in soft soil. Breath gently as you focus on the sensations in the soles of your feet, stay like this for a few minutes Experiment with these ideas Let me know if they help to calm your nervous system.
