25.01.2022 Our Perth bus team is proud to support a new collaboration between Transperth and the State Library of Western Australia. At the State Library of WA, this includes access to more than 56,000 eBooks, 9,000 audiob...ooks, digital magazines and newspapers and the movie streaming service Kanopy all for free. https://www.facebook.com/208790446224243/posts/1015711928865420

24.01.2022 Stephanie Mavrick has her dream job, but people are often surprised when she tells them what it is. That surprise turns to awe when they see her in action, charging starter motors and servicing cars for her family. A qualified Diesel Mechanic and winner of the 2019 Harry Hauenschild Apprentice of the Year award, Steph is proud of how far she has come at Transdev in our Brisbane bus team. Steph hopes she can advocate for other women to feel welcome in the mechanics industry so they can find their place in an occupation that she has found to be challenging, rewarding and useful. 23.01.2022 Our teams have celebrated the rich cultural heritage of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community during NAIDOC Week. We were privileged to host events across our business including a traditional smoking ceremony and performances from our First Nations employees at Sydney’s Barangaroo Wharf 1 and Balmain Shipyard. Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees have been instrumental in shaping our Reconciliation Action Plan. It’s a plan that recognises we are still on a journey towards Reconciliation and that through respect, understanding and education we can achieve meaningful progress. Always was. Always will be.

22.01.2022 Our NSW bus team were pleased to welcome Tania Mihailuk MP to our Journey Maker management summit today in the heart of Bankstown. We heard from Tania about the wealth of challenges and opportunities that an expanding Bankstown CBD presents for the community and stakeholders. Strengthening these relationships and understanding what they require will always be central to Transdevs success. Thank you Tania for your time and insights! #journeymakers

22.01.2022 Our Transdev Graduate program has for the second year running been included in the Australian Financial Reviews Top 100 Graduate Employers ranked at 43 in 2020. Our program, aimed at developing future leaders in mobility, was also a finalist in the 2020 AFR Graduate Employers Awards. They are here for purpose. And it doesnt matter if they are working in an ofce, or if theyre in health and safety, or on the network; they can correlate exactly what theyre doing to having a sustainable impact on my local community. Our 18-month program provides graduates a blend of operational and function specific experience and training. They were overwhelmed with the response from hundreds of incredibly talented students who were keen to share the message of bus safety. View the winning and highly commended entries below. Congratulations to the winners!

20.01.2022 Ahead of World Environment Day, we continue to advocate for a cleaner, greener, zero emissions public transport future. We’re excited to see more transit authorities across Australia and New Zealand making greater commitments to take bolder action in combating climate change. Working in partnership we are reimagining the fleets of the future, introducing new technologies, and engaging local manufacturers and suppliers. Cleaner and greener public transport is critical to helping our communities achieve zero emissions targets.

19.01.2022 We proudly join our colleagues from across the industry to celebrate 50 years since the first woman commenced driving buses professionally in Sydney. Our wonderful Anita Harper from our Taren Point Depot has been behind the wheel greeting customers on their daily commute for more than 34 years. Anita is regularly complimented by her customers about her friendly, professional and welcoming service. One of our customers put it best by saying of Anita, "She is the most lovely, c...ourteous and cheerful driver. She helps to bring an important human touch to every journey." We are committed to increasing the number of women in our workforce and bringing on more great Journey Makers like Anita. 19.01.2022 Simply asking Are you ok? can start a meaningful conversation that could change someones life. Today the rail industry across Australia and New Zealand is marking Rail R U Ok? Day. We are proud to support this industry-wide initiative with the TrackSafe Foundation. Operating light rail in Sydney and rail services in Wellington and Auckland, our teams have marked the initiative this week with virtual events and physically distanced depot discussions. Tracksafe

19.01.2022 For Chelsea, it was a school field trip to the Sydney Harbour that set her on a pathway she never imagined. The Smith Family’s Work Inspiration program, supported by Transdev, aims to give school leavers a practical ‘taster’ of what a day in the life of different jobs are like, and the training pathways available. Chelsea now sees a clear future career path in the maritime industry and encourages other school leavers to consider a transport career.... You learn so many new skills and it’s a great team to work in. You also get to see amazing views of the Harbour every day!

19.01.2022 The health and wellbeing of our employees and customers across Australia and New Zealand will always be our top priority. As the COVID-19 issue continues to evolve, we are monitoring advice from the health authorities and are taking proactive steps to keep our teams and passengers safe. https://www.transdev.com.au/news-en/covid-19-our-response/

18.01.2022 On Friday, our Sydney bus team celebrated their own 'Thank You Day' as a way to acknowledge the efforts of all Journey Makers during this challenging year. Breakfast and lunch BBQs were held at all 7 depots and the Leadership Team were out and about to thank our frontline teams personally. Despite the difficult year we've had, the Sydney bus team have continued to deliver day in and day out. Thank You Day provided the perfect excuse to come together and celebrate their efforts.

15.01.2022 From small town Taranaki in New Zealand to driving hundreds of Wellington rail commuters, a career change has proved rewarding for one of our newest train drivers in Wellington, Rose Taikato. https://www.transdev.com.au//from-small-town-taranaki-to-/

14.01.2022 Staying connected to each other and our communities has never been more important than now. Public transport is essential for keeping cities and communities connected. This year’s theme for the UN World Cities Day 'Valuing our Communities and Cities' resonates strongly with us. Whether we are in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Wellington or Auckland, we are a team of people serving people. Connecting communities across Australia and New Zealand.

14.01.2022 Our Brisbane bus and ferry team have welcomed the official easing of restrictions and has worked in close collaboration with the Queensland transit authorities to welcome more of our passengers back to the network during the states long weekend. We all have a part to play to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by respecting physical distancing and being kind and respectful to our fellow Journey Makers. We remain committed to the health and safety of our teams and our passengers with every vessel and bus across our fleets cleaned at least once daily with various measures across our networks such as rear door boarding applied to protect our drivers safety.

14.01.2022 We are very proud to announce that our Customer Experience & Communications Team are finalists in the Australian Service Excellence Awards. The Awards recognise best practice, performance and innovation in customer service. Great work team & good luck!

14.01.2022 Great news for Sydney inner west light rail customers and our Light Rail team with the NSW Government announcing it will purchase four new light rail vehicles for the L1 Dulwich Hill Line. The new trams will meet customer demand, increasing capacity by more than 30 per cent and providing five additional services per peak hour. Thanks to a population boom in Sydney’s inner west, customer numbers on the line soared from around four million in 2012 to approximately 10 million in 2018, and are expected to continue climbing into the 2020s. Procurement is expected to start within the coming months, with the vehicles expected to arrive within two years. The additional trams will provide much needed capacity on the Inner West Light Rail which has seen patronage growth year on year.

13.01.2022 After joining Transdev as part of our graduate program in 2019, Yudai has embraced the opportunity to help shape and improve the Auckland rail network. Connecting the dots and helping to make decisions that move Aucklanders more easily from A to B is something I find extremely motivating. In his role, Yudai spends a lot of time on the network to get a feel for the customer experience on any given day.... It helps him to understand impacts of timetabling, and changes on the network. It’s a role that relies heavily on understanding data and patterns, but for Yudai it’s the customer that is at the heart of the job. I feel really rewarded when I see customers are happy with the service and that we are providing the best and most efficient services.

13.01.2022 As we mark World Environment Day today, we recognise that public transport plays an important role in supporting sustainability. This years theme of Time for Nature challenges us all to consider the impacts that climate change has on global biodiversity. Our Transdev Group CEO, Thierry Mallet, has strongly endorsed the efforts of the UITP and the UN Environment Program which calls for smarter investments in our communities to address climate change in an official statement of support at: https://www.transdev.com.au/new/world-environment-day-2020/ https://www.facebook.com/TransdevAustNZ/videos/301109904227620/

12.01.2022 There was a time not so long ago when Andy couldn’t imagine he would become a bus driver. He was enjoying his job in car manufacturing and had spent most of his working life in the car industry. With the industry changing, he needed to find new horizons and started to consider another side of transport when he heard Transdev was looking for drivers.... It worked out beautifully. I was nervous when I started but I felt totally supported. The training is very good and you are guided every step of the way, Andy explained Beyond technical skills and training, customers are at the heart of the role for Andy. For me, it’s about making sure the customer is happy. You want them to get to the end of their journey safely. That’s what ‘Journey Maker’ means to me. You need to think about the customer and how to help them, Andy said.

11.01.2022 Our iconic First Fleet ferries are being completely restored and upgraded with a 21st century makeover to ensure this Sydney icon graces the harbour for many years to come. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA48Z5TQaLk

11.01.2022 It was our privilege to support a very special community journey this week by providing NSW rugby league team Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks with one of our charter buses to transport them from their off-season training camp in Kiama to the NSW southern coast region of Kangaroo Valley, which was sadly impacted by the bushfires. The team lent a hand with the clean-up efforts and met with local residents.

08.01.2022 Every year at 11am on 11 November the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month we pause to remember the men and women who have died or suffered in all wars, conflicts and peace operations. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. As the world welcomed peace, thousands returned home to much fanfare, and their loved ones. Thousands more never made the journey home.... Wherever we are today, we will commemorate their legacy. Lest we forget.

08.01.2022 We are proud to announce that our Turn Up and Go shuttle bus trial in Sydney has been extended until the end of 2020! The popular shuttle service runs every 10 minutes between Lilli Pilli Point and Caringbah Station during peak hour and is encouraging commuters to leave the car at home. We are taking additional precautions during the COVID-19 pandemic like additional cleaning and exclusion zones on board to ensure the safety of both our customers and drivers.

08.01.2022 Our Melbourne bus team is on the lookout for budding student artists from Years 5-8 in Victoria to promote bus safety in a new poster design competition. Operating more than 120 school bus services across Melbourne, safety is our teams number one priority. The competition is a great way for kids to use their creativity while learning about safe travelling behaviours.... 08.01.2022 Our Auckland bus team has taken a step towards a zero emission future and will proudly operate the Yutong E13 Auckland’s first electric ‘extra-large’ bus. The bus can carry 78 passengers and is designed specifically for New Zealand standards. Sheryll Otway, General Manager of Howick & Eastern that operates our Auckland bus services welcomed the exciting milestone. The bus will be trialled on longer distance routes from East Auckland into the city centre. In 1906 we lau...nched the first motorised bus to complement our horse drawn carriages and now 114 years later, in partnership with Auckland Transport and JW Group, we are again changing the way our passengers travel. This is history in the making. Electric buses are a game changer and we’re excited to support Auckland Transport’s vision for a full zero emission bus fleet by 2040. We can’t wait for our customers to get on board and experience the E13 for themselves.

08.01.2022 Wishing all our Journey Maker Dads in the Transdev community a happy Fathers Day. It may look a little different depending on where we are, but we are all grateful for the support and care of the wonderful Dads out there. Special thanks to the Dads in our frontline teams who are working hard to provide essential public transport services safely. We appreciate your resilience and dedication.

07.01.2022 One of our light rail vehicles is decked out in the rainbow of Pride as Sydney prepares to party for the opening of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras this weekend! Thanks to the TorchMedia crew for making over the vehicle in time with colourful vehicle wraps and rainbow aisles. The rainbow tram operates on the L2 Randwick line between Circular Quay and Randwick. As long term supporters of the Mardi Gras and operators of light rail, ferry and buses in Sydney, we are proud to be part of such a vibrant community event that celebrates diversity. We look forward to welcoming journey makers travelling in Sydney this weekend. Look out for our friendly team members handing out Ride with Pride stickers this weekend!

07.01.2022 I have a passion for helping people solve problems, whether it be something simple like getting around town or complex like working out the most efficient routes. With a background in IT and customer service, Journey Maker Paul Vorrasi has worked in a number of roles within our Queensland operations, including as a Bus Driver. He is currently working in our Engineering Team mapping out the most energy efficient routes and training drivers on sustainable driving of our new ...zero emissions electric bus fleet. On Friday, Paul had the pleasure of joining Redland City Council's Ranger Stacey at Council's Aspire Careers Expo. He talked with students and job seekers about the career possibilities that are being created through sustainable mobility. Transport is so much more than simply moving people from A to B. Thats the central message in a video sent to our Melbourne team, who continue to navigate a second wave of COVID-19 in the city, from their colleagues across Australia and New Zealand. The message delivered follows:... "To our Transdev teams in Melbourne, we know that things are difficult for you at the moment. 05.01.2022 Rachel is living proof that a career change can pay off. Having worked in finance until her mid-30s, she was inspired by a TV profile of a female bus driver. The bus driver featured in the series was loving the flexibility of her new lifestyle as a driver and it sparked something in Rachel. Life is short why not make a change and back yourself. I enjoyed working at the bank and the customer service element, but the idea of having more freedom and learning a new skill reall...y appealed to me. Ten years on, I haven’t looked back. I even recognise some of my customers on the bus from the bank branch I used to work at! Rachel said.

02.01.2022 I always wanted to be a bus driver. I applied when I was in my twenties but didn’t have my licence for long enough, then my children and work took priority and I had to put my dream of becoming a bus driver on hold. For Elizabeth Beerworth driving buses from our Sunshine West Depot in Melbourne is her dream job. Elizabeth’s road to becoming a Journey Maker was made more straightforward, thanks to an innovative new all-female driving school program set up by the team at Tran...sdev Melbourne. The program assists women to develop confidence and skills, and encourage more women to join the transport sector. Now that my children are older, it is a perfect opportunity for me to get behind the wheel and follow my dream." #journeymaker #mobility #melbourne #publictransport #training
