24.01.2022 Transdev proud operator of Sydney Ferries Managing Director, Dean Helm, presented a fundraising cheque of $24,000 to the Westmead Children’s Hospital of contributions from employees, passengers and the company. Sydney Ferries has raised funds for the hospital for 25 years through fundraising during the Bandaged Bear Appeal, Christmas appeals and raffles. Lady Edeline was built in 1913 and, together with her four sisters (Lady Denman, Lady Chelmsford, Lady Scott, and Lady Ferguson), she was converted to diesel after the Sydney Harbour Bridge opened in 1932. She was designed to have a lifespan of 15 years, but ended up serving for more than 70, retiring in 1984. 01.01.2022 #flashbackferryfriday to the ferry Curl Curl approaching Manly wharf in 1954. In her time, she was the fastest ferry on the harbour, as she proved during the Anniversary Day celebrations in 1936 when she completed the trips to Manly to move large number crowds in only 22 minutes.
