25.01.2022 A few weeks ago we celebrated the reopening of our Centres and the renewed enthusiasm that we saw in our kids. Since then, government restrictions have been reimposed in Phnom Penh due to a case of Covid-19but we're anticipating opening again very soon. Through these lockdowns we've embraced the opportunity to refocus, rebalance, and recharge. While some things will get "back to normal", many more will get better than ever. One of those things is Operation Lighthouse, throu...gh which we’ve cooked and hand-delivered nearly 500,000 meals since March. Our staff took on the challenge first but they were soon joined by parent volunteers, and nowthe kids! While preparing hundreds of meals and delivering them to the most vulnerable members of the community might be daunting to some, our kids take this kind of service in their stride. They love the opportunity to minister to other children and to honour their elders. These kids walk-the-walk of Christ-like service and we are so proud of them. #HowWeTransform

16.01.2022 Our team of trainers has always been creative it’s one of the strengths of Cambodians. But this past few months has pushed them even more to explore new ways of leading our kids in small groups. We have found that our kids learn best in groups, and that’s made it a lot easier for our team to visit at their homes, and especially to connect with the groups online. It’s amazing that even with our poorest families, someone nearby will have a smart-phone! Our team, our kids and the families have adapted brilliantly to this new reality. Small groups either in person or online are proving so powerful. Everyone is still connected and cared for. Everyone’s still working hard. Whenever it is that we get to open our Centres again, we’re going to ensure we don’t forget some of these lessons that Covid-19 has taught us.

16.01.2022 Throughout the year we've shared updates about our year 12 students who've been working hard to prepare for their exit exams. These exams have again been deferred, which left the kids feeling a little weary and discouragedbut we're with them in this moment. To end their year on a high note, we held our first Brain Flex weeka time to refocus and reinvigorate. The kids gathered in small groups across multiple locations, participating in quizzes, Q&As, and mock exam sessions.... It was an opportunity to share knowledge and encouragement, while also changing up the format from traditional exam study to collaborative, fun learning. At the end of the week there was a fancy dress party where the kids wore outfits they'd decorated to celebrate their favourite school subjectFrom maths equations to geographical landmarks and periodic tables, it was awesome to see the diversity of talent and passion among these young people. Most of these kids are the first members of their immediate family to finish school, and this year's group have been working towards this goal through the complications and uncertainty imposed by the Covid-19 restrictions. While the goalposts have been moved again, we were so glad to take this opportunity to celebrate these kids. #HowWeTransform

We think that the beautiful and unique styles of traditional Khmer clothingand the modern interpretationsare a fantastic example of this victory, as these were one of the many cultural traditions that were outlawed during the Pol Pot regime.... In Transform, we teach our kids Kingdom culture, but we also celebrate their Khmer culturewe are Transform Cambodia, after all!
