23.01.2022 "Never feel guilty for cutting someone off who handed you the scissors. Be around people who FILL your cup, not just drink from it" Trent Shelton. This would have to be one of the best video's I've watched in a long time. Too often we keep people in our lives because we don't want to "appear rude" or maybe just don't want the confrontation ... meanwhile we put up with being treated like a doormat AND make excuses for them ... "Oh, that's just (name), that's just how they are".... We're told that there's good in everyone and we should give people the benefit of the doubt ... our PRIMAL INSTINCT is self preservation. Please don't misunderstand me here ... I DO believe there's good in everyone. However I DON'T believe that I'm the only person that can help them to realise it though. If there's someone in your life who continually brings you down, it's up to YOU to stand up and say "no more". It can be especially hard for women to do that because we are such nurturers. I remember how happy and liberated one of my clients felt the first time she said "No" to someone who she'd allowed to use her over the years. She said to me "see this (patting her head), this is no longer a doormat!" #CreatrixIt #SettingHeartsFree

22.01.2022 This reminds me of a story..... There was an elderly woman with cancer. She was getting the BEST treatment by the BEST doctors but nothing was happening for her ... she wasn't showing ANY signs of improvement and this really had the doctors stumped. They couldn't understand WHY everything they were doing, everything they were treating her with, NOTHING was working ... there should have been SOME sort of improvement yet there was none. One day this guy came and asked her a si...mple question ... "What's the WORST thing that could happen if you were to get better?" Do you know what she said? She said ... "I'd be alone". You see, when she got sick, her family started to come visit her ... the kids, the grandkids... everyone! And they were spending time with her. She was AFRAID that if she got better, then all that would stop ... they'd stop visiting her.... they'd stop spending time with her and she would be ALONE. One of the roles of your unconscious mind is to keep you safe by moving you away from pain and towards pleasure. In this instance that sounds quite morbid but your unconscious mind doesn't know that. All it knows is that "being alone" = "pain" so it brings things into your life to keep you away from that pain. I love this quote... "Before you heal someone, ask him if he's willing to give up the things that made him sick" .... you just don't know if there's some sort of "payoff" that they get for holding onto their stuff.... maybe it's attention, maybe it's sympathy, maybe they get to blame others and then it's not their fault that their life is so crappy (I used to do that ).... And it can be a scary thing to do, to take responsibility for your own life, but it's the FIRST step that MUST happen before any REAL change can occur.
