21.01.2022 Last week we had the pleasure of moving a lovely local family into a special piece of Willoughby history. The St Elmo home on Laurel st was originally built for James Forsyth and Minnie HIpwell - My Grandfathers Great Uncle! St Elmo is one of the few remaining homes from back in the 1890’s and early 1900’s when tanneries were the primary industry for the rural Willoughby area. Another two of the original homes on High street - Rosewall and Tyneside were also owned by the ...Forsyth family and sat on some of the 258 acres of land which were purchased by the Forsyth family back in 1870 for 3 per acre (!!!) Willoughby Living ran an article a little while back about these homes, can you believe there was talk of knocking it down! My name is Lauren and I am an employee of Vinnies Crows Nest. I support a large group of wonderful and kind hearted volunteer members across the Northern Suburbs area who provide much needed material and financial support to some of our communities most vulnerable people. ... Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, many of the people we assist are requesting food hamper drop offs at their doorsteps rather than gift cards so they do not need to leave their homes to shop as often. With the onset of Winter we believe these requests will continue. We are currently low on food for our hampers and are seeking help with donations of non-perishable food items that are in date. 20.01.2022 We are great supporters of Vinnies here at Transitions, the work they do in our community helping vulnerable people with essential supplies and funds is so important, especially in this pandemic! At the moment Vinnies Crows Nest are making up hampers of essential non perishable food items for vulnerable people across the north shore/northern suburbs. Our friends at Storage King Chatswood are a drop off point for donations (Ill put a list of items they need in the comments). We have been blown away by the generosity already shown to this initiative and encourage everyone to keep popping a few extra items in their trolley for people who really need it in this time.

03.01.2022 Ahhhh the serenity of the countryside Last week, our team moved a client all the way to Gundagai for a lovely change of pace from bustling Balmain! Tree changes are becoming increasingly popular as Sydney prices continue to soar and its a very welcome change for the boys to escape to the country! (They even managed to squeeze in a round of golf on the flattest, driest course ever before heading back!)

03.01.2022 Its really easy to forget the flow on effect that this drought has on the many small businesses in rural communities, when farmers have no money to spend, they stop dining out, stop buying clothes, gifts etc. DiJONES are organising a trip out to central western nsw to shop, eat and stay at local businesses. Such a brilliant concept! AND they are creating a catalogue of businesses in these areas so we can support them by doing our Christmas shopping with them! ...
