25.01.2022 Really interesting TED Talk by Charles Leadbeater about educational innovation. I found this really interesting and he offers some fascinating ideas for those of us in education, around disrupting the status quo.

24.01.2022 Such an inspiring TED talk by Salman Khan, the founder and creator of the Khan Academy. For those of you that do not know what the Khan Academy is, it is a free online tutoring tool. I have used it with students before and would recommend it to anyone who may have a child who is struggling to learn, or perhaps you yourself need a refresher on certain topics. https://www.khanacademy.org/

12.01.2022 Today was our first workshop - Looking through the lens. We had a great group of people from teachers, to students, parents, guidance counsellors, carers and disability support workers. Great to see there are so many people out there that want to learn more about how to best support people on the Autism spectrum. Looking forward to more workshops!

04.01.2022 What’s it like for people with disabilities to get a job? Turns out it’s a song and dance. Watch this short music video, performed by people with disabilities, ...about having a disability and seeking employment. Entertaining and insightful, the stage is set for a more inclusive Queensland. www.allabilities.qld.gov.au See more

01.01.2022 I am writing a unit today on Innovative Practices in Disability and Inclusive Education. I was updating my unit materials and researching what is currently informing current agendas in disability and inclusive ed and stumbled across this book chapter by Konza, D (2008) titled, "Inclusion of students with disabilities in new times: responding to the challenge" https://ro.uow.edu.au/cgi/viewcontent.cgi Found it a really interesting read and discusses some really relevant reasons for why it is important to have inclusive settings, but also discusses why there are still barriers to inclusive education in Australia.
