NHVR and QPS identified evidence of engine remapping, which meant emissions controls and speed limiting systems were not operating in accordance with the Australian Design Rules. 18.01.2022 NHVR - Goondiwindi Heavy Vehicle testing site: temporary closure. Due to the high temperatures in Goondiwindi and risk to our staff working in full PPE outdoors, QLD Health have made the decision to temporarily close the Goondiwindi COVID Testing Clinic effective immediately. The testing centre will remain closed for Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd December. The testing centre will reopen on Thursday 3rd December at 11:30am pending lower temperatures.... Electronic signage will be changed to notify of the testing being suspended and signs will be put up on site informing drivers they can be tested at Goondiwindi Hospital or Charlton Drive-through COVID Testing Clinic.

07.01.2022 Police are investigating a fatal crash at Meadows overnight. Just after 11pm on Thursday 15 October, patrols and emergency services were called to Brookman Road..., after a fuel tanker left the road and rolled before catching on fire. The driver and sole occupant, a 59-year-old man from Echunga, sadly died at the scene. Investigators from Major Crash attended the scene and Brookman Road will be closed for most of today between Morris Road and Hammersmith Drive while crews carry out repairs to the road surface. The man's death is the 70th life lost on our roads as compared to 86 for this time last year.
