17.01.2022 With the Christmas season fast approaching, there has been a steady increase in online scams. Please be mindful of: Phishing scams Leading up to Christmas, things can become extra busy and you may find yourself distracted. Cyber criminals use this time of year to their advantage. It has been reported that phishing scams are being tailored to represent communication from mailing services, as most people are expecting packages this time of year, they are more likely to open... scam emails. These emails can contain links to fake websites, that request personal details and can result in malicious malware being downloaded to your device. Fake online purchasers Be careful when selling your items online, do not get caught out by a fake purchaser. Unfortunately, scammers use the online marketplace to their benefit. Some red flags to look out for include: the purchaser is unable to be contacted by phone or in person and will only communicate via email or online. The purchaser may ask to organise delivery costs before viewing the item. Please be aware that proof of purchase being bank transfer confirmations can be easily fabricated. It is always best practice to wait until funds have reached your bank account before handing over your items. Another important reminder, when organising an inspection of your item, do not attend alone have someone you know and trust attend. Your personal safety is paramount. Fake online sellers For quite some time, scammers have created fake websites which market products and allow you to make purchases which never turn up. These websites are designed to steal your money and your personal information. Should you have any concerns regarding scams, or wish to report a scam please contact the ACCC https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam

15.01.2022 Service NSW provides a number of public registers, in particular they provide a search for contractors and tradespersons. It is imperative to confirm the builder or tradesperson you have engaged has a current licence to ensure they have the appropriate qualifications for the work you want completed. Confirming your builder or tradespersons licence will give you peace of mind, that in the event of problems you have access to the consumer protections provided under the Home B...uilding Act 1989. To search the register, use the link below. https://www.service.nsw.gov.au//check-builder-or-tradesper

12.01.2022 Recently our firm assisted Chloe Louise with the purchase and licence of copyrighted illustrations for her children’s story book The Adventures of Nellie. Randeep was so pleased to receive a copy of the book featuring the adventures of @Nellie_andco now that it is published. Randeep enthusiastically brought the book to our staff meeting, where he proceeded to captivate us with story time. We found the story charming with a message of courage and friendship.
