23.01.2022 From 11:59pm on 21 June and in line with the most up-to-date advice of the Chief Health Officer the following changes will be made: - Ski season to start

22.01.2022 Mt Hotham update - January 7 The resort remains closed as there continues to be fire activity in the area and high temperatures are forecast for later this week.... Air quality in the area remains very poor and could impact your health. If possible please stay away from the area for your personal safety. RMB staff are checking all properties and undertaking critical works around some properties; cutting back of trees and brush that encroach close to buildings, clearing of leaf litter etc. to protect property should further fire activity occur. We owe enormous gratitude and thanks to the local CFA who have worked tirelessly to protect our communities of Mt Hotham and Dinner Plain. Ensure you keep across the information being provided to the community visit www.emergency.vic.gov.au or the Vic Emergency App.

To help people move... through the area, two convoys are being coordinated: - departing the southern end of Swifts Creek at 7pm TONIGHT heading to Bruthen - departing northern end of Bruthen at 8pm TONIGHT heading to Swifts Creek. Delays are possible due to clearing work currently being completed. ******************** ROADS UPDATE 1.45pm Mon 20 Jan 2020 The Great Alpine Road between Bruthen and Ensay is CLOSED due to storms and heavy rain washing fire debris onto the road. We'll assess the road once the weather clears and provide an update. ****Roads Update- Update 11:30am**** The Great Alpine Road between Bruthen and Ensay may close at short notice this afternoon This is due to a severe weather warning forecast for storms and heavy rain This may cause land slips and debris, such as rocks and soil to fall onto roads in fire affected areas If the road does close, it will re-open as soon as it has been assessed and deemed safe Roads Update 10am 20 January We have had significant rainfall overnight and are expecting more today This is having an impact on many fire affected roads Given conditions can change and roads may close at any time, please consider if you need to travel today So far the rain has caused rocks, dirt and burnt trees to fall onto fire affected roads and caused some minor land slips While some roads remain open to residents and permit holders this morning, things can change quickly We are out and about reassessing the roads to fully understand the situation Check https://traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au/ for other road closures in your area Some photos are below of Gelantipy Rd near Murrindal from this morning- these sorts of conditions could occur across other fire affected roads today Our Rappel crews are also sand bagging our Heyfield Incident Control Centre due to flash flooding CFA GippslandForest Fire Management Victoria East Gippsland Shire Council East Gippsland Outdoors. 17.01.2022 Sorry - but just to get you thinking about the Aus winter ski season approaching we share some of our members photos taken today from Whistler Ski Resort in Canada. Similar elevation as Hotham. Bottom of lifts 600 m elevation and top of ski area 2,200 m. Another benefit of the Epic Australia Pass - which includes at no extra cost the likes of Whistler / Blackcomb.

02.01.2022 We’ve been off the air for a few days and we apologise along with all visitors and residents, Mount Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board staff were evacuated... from the mountain on January 3 due to the bushfire threat. Fortunately, despite some terrible conditions, a bit of luck and a lot of preparation by our amazing emergency services, RMB staff and locals mean that Hotham and Dinner Plain remain unscathed by the fires. We extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the CFA, Forest Fire Managment Victoria our local firefighters and staff, Mount Hotham Skiing Company, the Australian Defence Force, Victoria Police and all those who support them. Their commitment and passion for our beautiful location is appreciated beyond measure. Thanks also to the incredible team at The Genny who stayed to keep the firefighting team fed and refreshed. Summer still has a way to go, so we’ll keep you updated on conditions, but we’re stoked to advise that HOTHAM IS OPEN again, so we hope to see you soon. Come on up and enjoy our short local walks, our family-friendly activities and our hospitality. https://www.mthotham.com.au//things-to/whats-on/activities https://www.mthotham.com.au//during-your-/restaurants-bars Please note that some areas of the Alpine National Park are still closed, for full details please refer to the Parks Victoria website: https://www.parks.vic.gov.au//safety-i/fire-affected-parks
