07.01.2022 As you will have seen from previous posts, our amazing cake decorating tutor, Jody, has been taking the ISO opportunity to hone her skills in crochet. This is her 5th throw rug for a young neighbour, who admired his sisters yellow and white throw so much, that Jody made him his own in cream, with runs of mustard, forest green and navy. She patiently changed the threads of colour and also learnt a new stitch called the 'V' stitch. It's great to see people learning new skills a...nd sharing their creativity around. Neighbourhood Houses are still not allowed to be open to the public except for essential services. This link may assist you with understanding some of the restrictions. As of today there is a change to the restrictions on indoor non-contact exercise. This means we can start to run exercise classes ie belly dancing, Pilates, Moving Together dance class. You will be contacted to let y...ou know when these will recommence. All other classes must remain on hold until the lifting of further restrictions. "This year for the Latrobe City Garden Celebration we’re looking to explore some of our community member’s experiences and stories around gardening. A short video has been made, which will be shared with the community to celebrate gardens, gardeners and ‘green thumbs’ in the municipality. ... The Garden Celebration this year is focusing on recognising all participants and their gardens through an interactive map on our website and in a 2 page-spread in the Latrobe Valley Express. The categories this year are: Small Garden: Pot gardens, balconies, terraces, front or back yard showcasing either flowers, shrubs, trees, vegetable, fruit or herbs.
