20.01.2022 We've had a great day today, celebrating Book Week with dress-ups, parades and a number of activities for students to enjoy! This week isn't just about dressing up and having fun (though that certainly helps ), as Book Week provides an opportunity to promote a love and excitement for books and reading. In turn, this supports our whole school improvement goal of developing a high level of literacy outcomes for all of our students. Here is a small sample of photos of the day for you to enjoy, especially when we are unable to have parents on-site to watch the parade.

14.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION PLEASE READ I have waited a long time to be able to share this news with our school community, and I have a huge smile on my face as I write this. Following the recent announcements regarding our transition to the Last Step of the Roadmap For Reopening last weekend, the Department of Education and Training have provided the following information to schools overnight. I have tried to simplify and summarise this as best as I am able, so if you would ...like additional information or clarification, please reach out and I’ll do my best to help. Firstly, parents and non-essential visitors are now allowed on-site again! Although physical distancing rules, the wearing of masks when physical distancing is not possible and when indoors, signing in/out, and density limits will apply, this is still very welcomed news! Pick-up and drop off zones no longer apply (though we have had lots of positive feedback about how this has eased congestion in our carpark so we encourage you to continue to use this approach wherever possible) Drinking fountains and taps are reopened for student use Intermixing between student year levels no longer needs to be minimised, so all our students can once again use any area of the yard during play breaks School tours can resume Our Year 6 Graduation and transition programs will continue to have a level of restrictions applied; however, these have eased. Any alterations to what are currently in place will be considered over the coming days and where necessary, be communicated soon. Our end-of-year Christmas Concert remains a possibility to go ahead as ‘normal’, though as per the above point, with a level of restrictions applied. Stay tuned for more information on this too as we investigate this further. Despite these big steps towards COVID normal, please remember that students who are unwell should stay home and get tested. Finally, I would like to sincerely thank everyone in our school community. The patience, understanding and support of our parents, students and staff through these crazy times has made my job much easier, and I’ll be the first to admit once or twice I wondered how we might get through it! We are so very fortunate to have each other please don’t ever forget this. Have a great Thursday! Joel Blythman Principal
