25.01.2022 The number 1000 will make the faces of our 49 teams beam. Why? Because spectators are back for this Saturday! We have a briefing from netball Victoria to finalise our COVID management requirements this evening, but we do know this will happen. ... Stay tuned team managers for updated plans, but this news was too good to sit on.
24.01.2022 Local sport brings people together. And we know this is a source of concern and questions at the moment with the current COVID-19 evolving situation. We are receiving updates through Netball Victoria and other Government agencies which we will share and use to inform our activities. For now in our region, there is nothing to suggest that sports in our area are of concern or pose risks. This may change, but for now it is BAU coupled with good hygiene practices and you should s...eek medical advice for members of your families are showing symptoms. We will keep you updated on current information we have, hope you are all healthy and well and are preparing for the season ahead as planned. #register #bewell #washhands

24.01.2022 2020 was not a year anyone expected and challenged us all in many different ways. Missing sport has had a big impact on physical and mental welfare for many. The smiles here say it all. Getting back to it is the best (even if we could only do it for a short time and reduced numbers). We are looking forward to being able to have all 900 of our members back in 2021. This will include a 4 week summer warm up pre-season as well as our Winter and Twilight seasons. Net Set Go will... also run from term one. We will also have a beginner umpire training program and mentoring opportunities. Keep an eye on this space and emails over the end of year break. 2021 will be loaded with fun.
23.01.2022 Tag. Share. Tell your mates. Book your places. Funday Sundays are coming up.
23.01.2022 CANTEEN MANAGER Do you have a smiley face, the ability to put together a shopping list, can spare time during the season and could use a little extra money in your pocket? Then this may be an opportunity for you. We are looking for a canteen manager for 2020 - this is a paid position. Must have availability Saturdays to be in the canteen while games are on and have a couple of spare hours in the week to stock the canteen.... One of the other perks is that you are the most popular person at TNA with players and parents alike! So many smiles and friendly interactions come at you across the counter. Canteen manager does not need to be someone who is already associated with TNA - so if you have family or friends who may be perfect, pass the information on. Expressions of interest can be emailed to [email protected] by the 16th of February. Please call Deb on 0415 822 398 if you have any questions.

19.01.2022 UPDATE: WINTER SEASON POSTPONED The advice announced from the Government today is that from Monday 16 March, 2020 all non-essential, organised mass gatherings of more than 500 people or more should be cancelled. As you will know, our TNA community is over 500 strong just with player numbers (then add on spectators, umpires, committee, siblings...) we have well over 1,000 people down on a Saturday.... The committee have decided to postpone our winter competition at this point in time, to ensure the health and safety of our TNA family and the wider community are best positioned to contain and slow the transmission of the COVID-19 virus (and hopefully accelerate the time we can get back to business as usual). Your club/team reps will receive an email with more information. We would like teams to: 1. E-mail in your completed team registration forms to us, so we can continue to process the admin to be ready for when the situation changes; and 2. Do not log on to pay registrations at this point in time. If you already have and want to reverse payments, you will need to contact Mynetball and Netball Victoria (but they can just sit there ready for when we can start too). Stay safe and thank you for your patience. We will keep you updated as we are. Deb (TNA President)
18.01.2022 Leadership is not a workplace status. It is taking initiative, investing time in others and leading by example. We are so proud of some emerging young leaders for going out of their comfort zones to take up important roles in delivering our current clinics. If you or someone you know are interested in developing your skills (young, old and anywhere in between) in the new year, get in touch.
18.01.2022 Saturday summer warm up is here. Make sure you bring your mask, follow the COVID actions to keep us all safe and bring your own drink bottles as the canteen is closed. We do have liquid gold available to buy for the grown ups to enjoy courtside. Support a great local business and community sport.
18.01.2022 WHAT IS HOLDING YOU BACK? With approximately 600 players in our junior leagues, there are at least 500+ adults that are part of our TNA community. And from that pool there was one brave adult who put her hand up to be a beginner umpire this year. Was it daunting? For sure! Was there that little inner voice questioning if she was fit enough, knew the game well enough? Definitely.... But has Sharan grown in confidence, skill and enjoyed herself this year? That is a big YES!! Any regrets? NO. So as we are on the lookout for squad coaches, umpires and other positions, we would love to see a few more brave adults get out of their comfort zones. We have great mentors to support our beginners and we will be running umpire and coaching programs with Netball Victoria in the new year to really support development of beginners. Please take the time to talk to Sharan about her experience if you think you might like to challenge yourself to have a go. #noregrets #fitness #fun #youcandoit
18.01.2022 UMPIRE COORDINATOR 2020 We have a position (or positions if we can get a few people) open to join the committee next year. We know lots of people have ideas to share in this space. And we would love to have you bring them to life. It will be an exciting year next year, with TNA working on a pilot program for umpire development with Netball Victoria. ... We have some umpiring gurus in our midst to support you. Your key attributes need to be organisation and people skills. If you love a spreadsheet, a chat and the opportunity to help develop young leaders in the community, come have a chat to the committee or drop us an email. #ideasintoaction #futureleaders

17.01.2022 And that is a wrap for 2019. We would like to thank everyone in our community for your support and contributions throughout the year. Committee, players, coaches, umpires, canteen helpers, parents, grandparents and friends. It takes a village and ours is 600+ strong. We wish everyone a safe and happy end to the year. We will be back on deck in January to plan for 2020 (keep an eye out on this page and your emails), but for now will be taking well earned break to recharge.... #biggerandbetter2020

15.01.2022 Following on from the exciting news that spectators are back, there are a few things we all need to do to ensure we are all safe: Check out the draws on MyNetball so you know where to go before arriving Bring a mask for players and spectators 12 and over... Go straight to the courts for your game umpires will bring down scoresheets. (The office is very restricted due to current density requirements) Everyone must sign in using the QR codes (including all the players adults can do this for them) Maintain 1.5 metre distancing and wear your mask where you cannot. Only public toilets will be available this week due to density limits and the canteen will not be running. BUT Bling 51 will be down with hot beverages and Slinky Spuds will also be set up. Please remember to social distance and be patient you know the drill. If you are unwell, you must stay home and follow the government requirements, rest and recharge for future rounds. These are small things to do for big happy feels to be back together doing what we love. Be safe, be kind and remember to absorb all the positive energy that will be around.

09.01.2022 Teams and Players: As registration forms are being completed and teams finalised, there are still some people looking for teams/teams looking for players. Here is our link to help you to connect. And in these uncertain times, if you have a team of 7, consider having a couple extra!! Lots of the people are new to the area, moved schools or are in high school where it is a bit harder to find a team.
08.01.2022 The committee met last night to review the current advice from Netball Victoria and the Health Department. An update has been sent out to all team delegates tonight. Stay warm and stay safe.
07.01.2022 TWILIGHT FINALS PREP. Congratulations to all our TNA teams on a great twilight season despite the challenging weather conditions and juggling all the other term 4 commitments. For teams that have made the finals an email will be in your inboxes shortly with details for the semis this week.... As well as your physical preparation this weekend, remember to also do your team administration aspects and ensure your players taking the court this week qualify for finals. Players must have played 5 rounds in their team to play finals. Byes qualify as a round and if your team was scheduled to play on the week cancelled due to heat, that also counts as a game. (Check out potential finals opposition teams training together today. Great sportsmanship U13s). #sundayfunday #evenhaveanumpire
07.01.2022 2020 WINTER REGISTRATIONS ARE LIVE!! Several of the committee members have been working overtime to make the registration process simpler for teams and coaches this year. Registration packs are available now if you have not already received one via our existing mailing lists. Some of the key changes to the process are:... 1. The whole process can be done on-line via email and mynetball; 2. We are holding a drop in session to assist with registration questions on the 18th of March 2020 from 4.30 - 6pm to assist you; 3. All teams will need to be registered by the 20th March. 4. All payments are now made online through Mynetball. Rather than a team fee this year, there is an individual player fee of $50 per player ( so fees payable prior to taking the court are $50 + VNA = $108 per player for the season). We are still working on the umpire coordinator role, so for now, please direct all umpire related questions and queries to Deb Archer via the TNA email account. (ANSWER 1 - Yes you need to provide an umpire). Have some empathy while going through the process - as it is new, there may be a few bumps, but the end game is to make this easier for everyone. For further information, email [email protected] #share #tag #allinfointhepack
07.01.2022 Hello again everyone. The committee have met with Council and Netball Victoria to discuss options for returning to work. The Agnes Brereton courts are designed to be public open spaces with access from many sides of the Reserve. This poses some significant challenges to meet the requirements return to play guidelines. We are working through how these issues can be resolved (either at the courts or through using another venue like the new Sports stadium) in a way that is s...afe, compliant and cost effective for our clubs. We also had mixed responses to teams wanting to return to play from the last email (and the number of responses was very low). The committee have committed to continuing to work through venue options, to make a decision on what (if any) activities we can run for the rest of the year at our August meeting. We need to understand if there TNA clubs are interested in continuing to play this year. Please comment below with your team name and YES/NO below. If you are a new team (i.e. league) looking to play - please DM with contact details. Much appreciated and more information to come.

05.01.2022 TECHNICAL GURUS - WE NEED YOUR HELP!! We are super aware that TNA need to make some big leaps in information access, process efficiencies and communication avenues. We look forward to re-connecting next year and working together with you all to get everyone back to netball. We have pre-season dates to look forward to in the new year as our end of year gift. We are all a bit out of practice so thought a social, skills and fitness run into 2021 would be good! For newcomers, existin...g TNA family and maybe even pre-season league kick starts. See you all in the new year and thanks for your ongoing support.
04.01.2022 We are excited for games to start in just a few days. And to see all our beginner umpires conquer their nerves and take the courts. We all are responsible for their success and growth. We look forward to building their confidence with all our teams supporting and celebrating them. #PlayForTheLove #bekind
04.01.2022 LONG POST Hi everyone, An update from the committee. We are currently completing an in- depth review of all the Netball Victoria and AIS return to play policies and reviewing the COVID 19 compliance and safety requirements for our venue and clubs. This is a large and challenging task to complete and our focus is on the safety and well being of our community, both at the Association and in the wider community.... The members of the committee are in those roles because we are fully committed to junior sport and the benefits that these provide, physically and socially and there is nothing we would rather see than a competition back up and running. But the current outbreaks in metro Melbourne are a timely reminder of how important it is to get the plans right and how small lapses in processes can be enough to have a significant public health impacts. Our next steps are: - To meet with Council on Monday to assess the facilities and access/ traffic management options. Our facilities are not easy to manage to meet the compliance requirements (particularly with so many entry points and public access across the site); - The committee will meet again Monday night after site assessments to discuss options that might be available and can be managed by a small team of volunteers; and - To schedule an online delegates meeting so we can all discuss options and outcomes. Emails have gone out to your delegates tonight with more information and no doubt they will be in touch with you all soon. We appreciate your support, look forward to your input and to working together to plan for a healthy, thriving future together, both in the short and long term. Stay warm and safe over the weekend. Deb
03.01.2022 FIND YOUR TEAM! And just like that, the holidays are over and we shift gear into routine and planning for the year. While our season will not start until Mid-April, we know people will be looking to lock in their sports calendars and teams over the next few months. And finding a team can be a bit ore challenging if you are new to the area, new to the sport or in schools that do not have their own teams and coordinators.... While TNA are not resourced to put teams together, we are committed to creating opportunities for people to connect and support one another. We will pin this post on FB for people looking to form teams, join teams or who have vacancies on teams to work together to help make sure everyone who wants to play can. Comment, tag and share.
02.01.2022 Hello everybody. A lot has happened since we all last caught up. I hope all of you and your people are safe in these strange circumstances. So many of you will have seen that Netball Victoria are starting to look forward to how community sports can restart safely in the future (with many unknowns and frequent review). The advice from Netball Victoria is that first up committees need to work through the guidance and checklists released earlier this week and develop policies a...nd procedures of how this will work for our venue and association. This is a significant, complex and large piece of work the committee will start on. This will take some time and we need to ensure we get it right to protect our most valuable part of the association and wider community - people. This will also include working with Latrobe City Council and we will also consult through your team delegates as we go. Until these are in place, we are not able to provide any advice in relation to resuming training or approve use of the facilities. Teams can complete risk assessments for their players ( https://vic.netball.com.au/covid-19-information) and make decisions independently for your people. But these will be completely independent from TNA. We are as keen as everyone to get back to Netball. But there is too much at stake to take any shortcuts and place people at risk. We thank you for your patience and will be in touch again soon. Stay safe. Deb

02.01.2022 Hi Village. No information in this post, just a virtual hug for everyone. I reckon we could all use one at the moment. It is pretty overwhelming at the moment, so just a little shot of positive energy out to our community. Also, a little change in vocabulary can help too. Rather than social distancing, re-frame it as physical distancing. We all need to still be socially connected and supporting each other. Over the next few months we will be trying to think of ways to use... electronic resources to keep up connectivity in our TNA community and to have a bit of fun together. It will not be the same as being on the courts, but if we are creative we can keep smiling together. Any ideas on what you would like to see happen - pop them in the comments or DM them. Stay safe. Try to be calm. Be Kind.
02.01.2022 UPDATE: Hello everyone, I hope this finds you all well and safe. This is certainly a challenging year for everyone.... The committee have made the decision to officially cancel any formal competitions for 2020. We have been meeting with the hope that we could aim for a twilight competition, but with the current lockdowns and community transmission levels, this is not going to be possible safely this year (timelines and progress out of lockdown are likely to be staged as per the previous rounds, which will take us well into the final months of the year. The committee are working closely with Council to prepare for a COVID 19 - safe return to netball early next year. We are working through options to investigate the feasibility of infrastructure upgrades at Agnes Brereton to be able to implement COVID 19 safety controls (including fencing options) for 2020 and also exploring cost effective options for accessing the new sports stadium in the interim for our clubs. We will be aiming to take registrations for a summer season this year so that we can kick off early in the new year/ term 1 (conditions permitting). As smaller group meetings are permitted when we emerge from this round of lockdowns, we will also be looking at to: Undertake beginner umpire recruitment and training in readiness for 2020 Explore opportunities for running capped number clinics with Netfit (this year and holiday clinics) Identify other opportunities for our members and parents to develop and plan; and Look for opportunities to host some informal training games and skills workshops to have some fun and engagement (if possible). The Committee, Netball Victoria and Latrobe City Council are working hard to ensure that as soon as it is safe to, we can get community sport back in Traralgon. COVID 19 new normal has no play book and information and guidance (both locally, nationally and internationally) are evolving constantly. We are all working hard and meeting often to understand current best practice and risk management to ensure the safety of the community is our number one priority and all wish we could be more definitive in actions and timelines moving forward. Please take care, enjoy the small things like more sunshine to lift your spirits and be kind to yourselves. We will continue to update everyone as we go and please get in touch if you have questions or just want to have a chat. Deb (TNA President).
