24.01.2022 Don’t forget to sign up for the LRH Virtual fun run and walk! Happening soon!

22.01.2022 Hello parkrunners. Just a couple of volunteer spots free this week if someone would like to help out. The photographer role just means taking happy snaps, with camera provided. Your chance for a little creativity, if you like. The camera is very easy to use - point and shoot. The Communications person helps with crowd control at the finish line and directing runners over to the scanners with their tokens. Please comment below if you can help out Annette

21.01.2022 Many parkrunners on the path this beautiful morning (sorry Marlon you ran too quick for me to get a photo). Even a few RDs got out for a walk/run on the course and then a catch up for breakfast at our favourite Food Co. Hopefully we can all be back soon doing parkrun

20.01.2022 Last #Shocktober we had members of Ambulance Victoria join us at parkrun to teach us CPR and to help us become familiar with our parkrun defibrillator. Although we can’t physically come together this year, this virtual session hosted by paramedic Mike Fox and Ambulance Victoria is a great way to stay informed and ready for when parkrun starts up again! Check out the link below

20.01.2022 Us Victorians are finding it hard to spread smiles right now while we hide our smiles behind a mask to stay safe But there are some simple gestures we can do to spread kindness while we are out walking or running a simple wave as you pass by... a thumbs up is a very Aussie way of saying hello, or ‘good job’ smiling with your eyes , or ‘smizing’ is a technique long used by actors - now it’s something we can all perfect say ‘hello’ - nice and loud so that it’s not muffled by your mask and hey, if you see somebody doing something great, be their biggest supporter and give them a clap! How else are you spreading kindness during COVID and who would you like to send a smile to today? Let us know

16.01.2022 Parkrunners, it is now a massive 21 weeks since we all got together for our last parkrun in March, so, as I was rostered to be the RD last Saturday, I thought I would add some nostalgia to this post with some old photos. Can you add to this post with a comment on your favourite memory of parkrun? Is it the silly costumes we sometimes indulge in or perhaps pacer week might be your fave. Maybe it might be the time your youngster achieved their very first parkrun, or is it the new friends you have made? Or is it all about the get-together we all enjoy afterwards. Personally, I love the dress-up days and I certainly have made so many new friends at parkrun. Saturday mornings have been something we parkrunners have always looked forward to and fingers crossed we can all get back together soon. Annette ('not the RD this week after all').

13.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day We have had so many special ‘Dad’ moments over the years at Traralgon parkrun, and it’s great to look back at some of those times we have been able to capture on Father’s Day may look a little different for us all this year, but we hope you have a wonderful day with phone calls, video catch ups, or spending time with your family at home. ... We miss you all! Stay safe - Traralgon parkrun crew

13.01.2022 We are back on this Saturday! Following the Victorian Premier’s announcement yesterday, and clarification from The Victorian Government (Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions) this morning, we are pleased to confirm that all parkrun and junior parkrun events in Victoria can operate from this weekend, Saturday 20 February 2021, in accordance with Tier 3 of the Government’s public events regulations. In line with our COVID-19 Walker and Runner Code and COVID-19 Volunteer C...ode participants are asked to observe local COVID-19 guidelines when travelling to and from the event. In relation to facemasks, the Victoria Government guidelines state: masks are to be worn when you cannot maintain physical distance. We therefore ask that event teams strongly encourage volunteers to do so, however, teams should in no way police the wearing of masks for walkers and runners. Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday Morning!

11.01.2022 On another parkrun eve check out our friends at Queenstown parkrun in NZ. Tomorrow on a sure to be chilly morning they will be having pacers! Queenstown parkrun is a beautiful scenic event, just magic with snow on the mountains this time of year. On a local note it has been awesome to see a few of you around town walking / running or in the garden as I pass. Our parkrun community is still alive & well. Enjoy the weekend! Cheers,... Paul.

10.01.2022 Good morning parkrunners! Hope your week's been a good one in the lead-up to parkrun day, only a few more sleeps to go! Just a few gaps to fill in on this volunteer roster, with Finish Token Support and Communications Person both available this weekend. If you're at all interested please send us a Facebook message or an email to [email protected]. Also if you're celebrating a milestone this weekend let us know so we can sort out capes beforehand as part of our new shorten...ed run briefing. Hope to see you there! Tripodi ~ RD

10.01.2022 Following the Victoria Government announcement on 12 February 2021, all parkrun events are cancelled for February 13, 2021. Please respect the lockdown restrictions, safety comes first. Stay safe parkrunners and we will see you on the flipside

07.01.2022 Great to see some of our regular parkrunners on the course this morning - a wet morning that it was

06.01.2022 Greetings and salutations fellow travelers :D You should know who this is ;) So today would've been the day I was RD and there is something i've always wanted to do for an event which is for people to bring in their favorite race bib or medal or perhaps a shirt of their favorite event outside of parkrun or share some goals of that run to everyone.... Can be small large huge or maybe emotional ? Comment below your choice with photo and share with the group :D For me this would be the 2018 event for Buffalo Stampede. It's a bit more of an emotional one on a high note as it was the third year tackling this beast and I finally managed to conquer it. Never lose sight of your goals and stay strong to keep them no matter what you're going through. Stay strong everyone :D We will see eachother again soon.

03.01.2022 Despite the humid conditions, 173 parkrunners joined us this morning. Well done, as the weather was very steamy! Many thanks also to our volunteers - Peter Reeves, Andrew Greenhill, Stephen Renehan, Mark Fairbairn, Helen Reeves, Lauren Rossiter, John Lease, Catherine Leonard and Tanya Rong, who made my job so easy. Next week, being so close to Valentines Day, we thought it might be fun to dress up in something red. Hunt up something you have hidden away - a red shirt, maybe some red shorts or even red socks! See you all next week Annette RD
