25.01.2022 Hello Members, We are looking forward to the rally on Sunday with some lovely weather coming our way. Attached is the rally schedule and grounds map.... **Please Note** The groups have been put together with a focus on Show Jumping grades, we have a very experienced show jumping instructor coming to the rally and want to ensure that everyone gets the most out of their lessons. The rally will still be a split day with a morning and afternoon session. There will be no canteen facilities, so please bring your own food and drink. The toilets will be cleaned in between sessions. **IMPORTANT** When you arrive please ensure you head over to the club rooms and sign the COVID register, the register must be signed for every single person that attends the grounds, including coaches, parents and committee members. Strictly no spectators, 1 parent/helper per child rider only. When parking please ensure you have at least 4 metres between floats and vehicles. Social distancing (1.5m) must be maintained in all areas. Any questions, please contact Danni McKeon (District Commissioner) Thank you Traralgon Pony Club Committee

24.01.2022 RUGGINGThis video is relevant across all certificate levels. At Pony Club we teach riders to fold the rug before placing on or removing from horse. Make sure you are wearing a helmet and correct footwear and always ensure that you communicate with the horse during the rugging process so he doesn't get startled.

20.01.2022 Hello everyone, Has anyone accessed a set of pony club keys and forgot to return them?
19.01.2022 Hi team. After discussions with Danni in regards to members being able to post information required etc. I would like to share my ad running on a few horsey pages having a group like this it is always great to seek help through each other and hopefully someone knows someone which can help with trusted info. SEEKING for our very confident (still under instruction) 11 yo ... MUST be suitable for a beginner / novice (undergoing riding lessons) with ability to give her years ahead 13.3 - 14.3hh at least 7yo+ but not older than 15yo been there done that ( not spooky )- we have a noisy 5 acres with other animals, motorbikes etc. must be ready to be loved and have event experience (we have to make sure safety comes first) due to having bought a 14.2hh chestNUT mare 12 wks ago that is spooky and is a working progress, no bad vices and is a beautiful horse, but some minor issues that spooks me, and do not want to take her out until completely happy. We also lease a welsh cob 13.3hh mare (owners can vouch for us in looking after as she has had cushions, laminitis, etc. therefore needs extra care of which we do well and she is living her best life with us ) and is a absolute dream pony that has taught our daughter alot (especially eventing) but at 22yo is slowing down to be able to continue PC, Interschool and start Eventing / Grading would prefer a gelding unless can vouch mare is completely safe and willing new stables coming soon to our property and have new angle camper float on order ( so will be given 5 star treatment at our loving home ) Hoping someone knows of something, or someone ? No negative comments required, please. Our search has already been hard, and have learnt alot about buying a horse from this. So we are hoping this post might uncover our future reliable safe pony. Thanks in advance! **photos of current rides
19.01.2022 Hello Members, Unfortunately the rally scheduled for February 14th has been cancelled. We have moved into STAGE 4 restrictions from 11:59PM FRIDAY 12 FEBRUARY TO 11.59PM WEDNESDAY 17 FEBRUARY, 2021... Sadly this means all Pony Club activities and events across the State must be cancelled or postponed until at least the 17 FEB 2021. Further advice on Pony Club activities/events will be communicated after the 17 FEB 2021. The grounds will be closed until further notice. What are STAGE 4 restrictions? STAGE 4 restrictions mean that all Victorians will only be able to leave their homes for one of the four essential reasons: Shopping for necessary goods and services (one person per household, once per day, a support person can accompany if required) Caregiving or compassionate reasons Essential work or permitted education Exercise (can leave for two hours of exercise) Other specified reasons (specific exemptions apply) The five-kilometre travel radius from your residence has also been reinstated and masks must be worn everywhere in public. How do stage 4 restrictions affect your equestrian activities? For the period of the lockdown: Care of horses - you may leave home to care for your horse if necessary including exercise for welfare reasons. Carry proof that you are travelling to your horse in case you are checked by police. A letter from your place of agistment should suffice. You should provide care for your horse in as limited time as possible, observe all government social distancing and hygiene requirements. You should exercise the horse on the property where the horse is kept. Where this is not possible due to safety or animal welfare concerns, you may exercise the horse locally off property, however, horses should not be floated to third party locations under Stage 4 Restrictions. Horse riding - you are not permitted to leave home to horse ride for recreational purposes. Club grounds and facilities - closed. Club competitions and rallies - suspended. Meetings - online only.’ Please find below a link outlining the current restrictions for all Victorians. https://www.premier.vic.gov.au//210212%20-%20Table%20of%20 CIRCUIT BREAKER ACTION 11:59PM FRIDAY 12 FEBRUARY TO 11.59PM WEDNESDAY 17 FEBRUARY, 2021 3 Essential providers a. a supermarket, grocery store, bakery, butcher, fruit and vegetable store or fishmonger; or b. an indoor or outdoor market, but only to obtain groceries or fresh food; or www.premier.vic.gov.au We appreciate your understanding. Stay tuned for future rally information. Kind Regards, Traralgon Pony Club Committee.

19.01.2022 Mail Delays We have noticed significant delays in ordinary mail delivery recently with some mail taking on occasion 3-4 weeks to arrive to members. This is ha...ving an impact on delivery times for both membership cards and coaching and rider certificate manuals. Please place your orders as early as practical and allow for these current delays. We thank you for your patience, Pony Club Victoria
18.01.2022 Hello Members, Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 Stage 3 Restrictions the August and September rallies will be cancelled. This is disappointing news, but if we all do the right thing perhaps, we can move forward and get back to doing we what we all love.... We are currently awaiting detailed information from Pony Club Victoria to advise the implications of the latest lockdown restrictions and how it applies to the equestrian activities. As soon as this information is available it will be forwarded on to all members. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in these very testing times. 13.01.2022 Hello Members, Thankfully lockdown has been lifted and the grounds can reopen from 11:59pm Wednesday 17th February 2021 for use. It's wonderful news that Toongabbie Combined Training Day can go ahead this Sunday.... I have had a lot of enquiries about the event, uniforms and cards. I will make myself available to be at the Pony Club grounds Friday night between 6pm and 7pm for people to attend and collect pony club membership cards and ask questions they may have. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Membership Cards are an absolute MUST when you go to competitions, and they need to be filled out correctly, with the correct gradings etc. You cannot complete unless you can provide your membership cards. If you are ever unsure of what grading you are, please speak to your District Commissioner prior to entering the event. What is Grading? Grading is based on the ability of the horse and rider as a combination, thereby providing the opportunity for each combination to compete at a standard commensurate with their ability. The grading is achieved by assessing the capability of the horse and rider as a combination, irrespective of the age of the rider or the size of the horse, or the horse's previous grading or performance. A separate grading is required for each discipline. A competition is not the place for schooling or instruction. Grading should only occur when the combination is capable of competing safely, and this applies to all age groups. Downgrading of combinations is allowed in special cases, and this is at the discretion of the District Commissioner. The District Commissioner is responsible for all grading, and this decision shall be final. The grading may be achieved by one of the following procedures: if sufficiently experienced, the District Commissioner may grade on their own initiative after taking into consideration all relevant information such as competitive ability performances. Alternatively, the District Commissioner may solicit assistance from a Grading Panel consisting of Club Instructors, other knowledgeable persons, the Zone Chief Instructor or their Appointee. Care should be taken to ensure that parents do not unduly influence the grading of their children. The combination must have attended two Club Rallies before being graded. The initial grading must take place at a Rally Day. Re-grading may be done at a time other than on a Rally Day. All gradings must be recorded on the rider's current Membership Card and signed by the District Commissioner. Kind Regards, Danni McKeon District Commissioner Traralgon Pony Club Want to change how you receive these emails? You can Update your preferences here.

02.01.2022 Are You Okay? Are your family and friends okay? These are tough times and some people are really struggling to cope. Today is a reminder to ask others how they... are doing, even if they look okay on the outside. They might just need to talk things over and have someone listen. It's also time to think and talk about suicide prevention. It's okay to talk about it. PCA has been all about 'Be Connected' during the COVID-19 pandemic. RUOK Day is a reminder to check in on your mates. And if they say they are not okay, check out the second photo, ask RUOK? and start by listening to them.
