25.01.2022 Just taking a moment of celebration for our co-founder & Director Kelsey Ramage who last night was announced as the International Bartender of the Year at this years @tales_of_the_cocktail Spirited Awards Of course, it is a strange time for such as we all face so many personal & global battles but we particularly want to take a minute to be stoked as Kelsey is the first Canadian to ever claim a Spirited Award in its 14 years history! Never the reason any of us do what we do, but wonderful to see a career of hard work & accolades be recognised by the global drinks industry. 19.01.2022 3 years How the fuck we're here after only that amount of time we still don't know, but indulge us for a second while we get all pensive and shit. 3 years ago almost to this day, Kelsey was in Mexico winning the Global @tahonasociety final with a drink that spoke to everything we'd been quietly working on for 6 months or so. Iain was in London and having got drunk one night had started telling people our idea for a blog of recipes that would start addressing the issue of s...ingle use ingredients behind bars. Whats followed has been truly life changing, and as we sit (lol jks, its fucking chaos rn) here today with the door about to open on the first permanent venue in our home city of Toronto, we just want to say a massive thank you to everyone that has supported us to this date. Its been fucking hell at points, we've screamed, kicked, spat, fought like fucking hell, partied too hard, forgot to stop and smile enough, been cruel to our bodies, been broke as fuck for 3 years straight & only getting worse, but for real, when your friends have your back the way ours have we can't not be anything other than grateful for all that has come our way & what we have. The real work is only just about to begin, venues are never easy nor a guaranteed success but the team at @supernovaballroom are deadset heroes, the menu @kelseyramage has created is stellar & the support we constantly receive from the Toronto community is nothing short of spectacular. We'll never be able to thank everyone is every corner of the globe who has brought us to this point properly, but thank you, sincerely. Right then, enough of that shit.
