23.01.2022 Expect Delays on New Years in Kuta Bali Police Announce Road Closures in Connection with 2015-2016 New Years Festivities The State News Agency Antara reports that the Denpasar Police will close a number of streets and divert traffic in an around Kuta during the transition from 2015 to 2016. The head of the Denpasar Police Precinct, Anak Agung Made Sudana, announced the following traffic changes coinciding with New Year festivities:... Jalan Dewi Sartika or Jalan Kartika Plaza heading towards Kuta Beach will be closed with traffic to be diverted to Jalan Singasari or Jalan Ciyngwanara-Bemo Corner Intersection-Simpang Temcacun-Jalan Setia Budi-Simpang Dewa Ruci-Jalan Iman Bonjol or Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai. J alan Seminyak heading to Jalan Legian will be closed and vehicles will be diverted to Jalan Sriwijaya-Jalan Jelantik-Jalan Dewi Sri and exit on the Sunset Road. Jalan Simpang Dewa Ruci heading to Jalan Setia Budi will also be closed with traffic diverted in the direction of Nusa Dua and Jalan Iman Bonjol-Jalan Teuku Umar. Road closures will also take place from Jalan Sunset Road heading to Jalan Nakula and Jalan Kunti heading towards Jalan Seminyak. Vehicles will be diverted to Jalan Sunset Road-Simpang Dewa Ruci. The rains have commenced in Bali’s capital of Denpasar and with it flooding has inundated hundreds of home, mostly in areas inhabited by the City’s lest financially unempowered. Heavy rains returned to Bali on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, lasting for three hours from 9:00 am until 12 noon. As a result, floodwaters flowed through Jalan Merpati near Batukaru, Gang Pa...dang, Perumnas Monang Maning, Banjar Busung Yeh Kauh, Pemecutan Kelod and other areas of West Denpasar. More than 100 homes and boarding houses submerged in waist-deep rainwater. 14.01.2022 1,000 Cleaners Deployed to Clean Up the Aftermath on Kuta Beach after 2015-2016 New Year’s Party When the New Year’s Celebrations on Bali’s Popular Kuta Beach Front were over on the morning of January 1, 2016, local officials were faced with the daunting responsibility of removing an estimated 325 tons of trash to permit sun and sand worshippers to resume their enjoyment of the waterfront. As reported by the State News Agency Antara, the head of the Public Hygiene and Parks ...Division for the Regency of Badung, Eka Mertawan, said on New Year’s Day the huge amount of trash was the aftermath of the night long partying and festivities by both domestic and international visitors used to welcome 2016. The Regency deployed nearly 1,000 staff to quickly clean the entire length of Kuta Beach starting on the morning of New Year’s Day. Also joining the clean-up effort were traders and shopkeepers who make their living working on the Island’s most popular ocean beach. Assisting the cleaning exercise were four excavators were used on a round-the-clock basis to lift the trash to waiting trucks to haul the debris away. On an average day the Kuta Beach front produces 250 tons of trash, considerably less that the 350 tons accumulated over New Year’s Eve.
