25.01.2022 Hi I’m KarenI’m new to working with Andrew Jones Travel and the Travelling Ladies Club. So I thought I’d give you some background.. After completing a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Education I found life working as a tour guide in Europe far more exciting than teaching in western NSW. I travelled extensively when I was young (Qantas brat) with my parents and have never outgrown my travelling shoes. I lived in Europe for over 5 years, spending extended time in Antibes (Fr...ance), Stockholm, Rome and Amsterdam. I also lived for just on 4 years in the USA working as a tour guide and trying to be a Californian girl. Back in Sydney in 1989 I completed a post graduate in Tourism Management, taught Tourism & Travel at TAFE, worked as an Inbound Tour Operator, then in destination marketing for Northern Territory Tourism and in 1995 moved to Tasmania to work for the Tourism Tasmania as international marketing manager promoting Tasmania to the international tourism trade. So that's my history... Now, working to promote the Travelling Ladies Club and escort tours I honestly feel like I have won the lottery! I am an avid walker having completed 3 Caminos through Spain, France and Portugal and hopefully I will be taking a group of ladies to France soon to experience the ‘must see delights’ as well as some of the local secrets of the French Riviera and Provence. Unfortunately, in light of the current situation regarding the Coronavirus, COVID-19, we are cancelling our Travelling Ladies Club High Tea meetings scheduled for Saturday March 21 in Hobart and March 28 in Launceston. We know you will understand and respect our decisions on this. We will, of course, advise when we will re-schedule these events - hopefully in the not too distant future. 22.01.2022 Hello to our Travelling Ladies! We know we have been missing in action on Facebook but we have been very busy. Sadly Anne Bourke and Judy Tierney are retiring from the Travelling Ladies Club. We will miss them and the contribution they have made over the years. We have hosted a number of events at the end or 2019; a Mystery Bus Tour and Christmas Drinks in Launceston and Hobart. But we are back with lots to share with you in 2020! we have exciting trips coming up including: Norfolk Island, Japan, France, Italy and Malta. Our Newsletter will also be out this month.
