25.01.2022 A group of fellow Travel Managers, along with a client and myself were due to take our East Gippsland Road trip this week and we would have just visited Raymond Island during the week on our way to Mallacoota. Lockdown 2.0 has delayed the trip for the second time, but the longer it goes before the trip can take place, the more exciting things we keep adding to our itinerary. 16.01.2022 While booking travel has it's limitations right now, and our health and safety has to take precedence, it doesn't mean that we as Travel Managers sit back and do nothing. I am using the time wisely to enhance my own product and destination knowledge. Having always enjoyed promoting my own country, it was natural that I would obtain my "Aussie Specialist" certification. So when Tourism Australia asked their specialists to submit their favourite Aussie photo, I was chuffed that... my photo was chosen to feature on the Aussie Specialist website. Of course it is from one of my favourite Tassie destinations, Dove Lake at Cradle Mountain. 15.01.2022 Thinking about Father's Day today, and my dad - bless him, and it got me to reminiscing about all the holidays we had together. We traversed Victoria and parts of South Australia, his favourite. He didn't get a passport until after his retirement so it was fantastic when I was able to organise a trip to New Zealand in the early days of my career at Qantas and he got his first stamp. One of the great pleasures of running my travel business has been sending families off on holiday together and I look forward to when it is possible to travel again.......... Happy Father's Day to all the dads
