20.01.2022 Did you know? The Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) although most strongly identified with Mexico, is celebrated throughout Latin America and everywhere with a Latino population. The 2 day festival held November 1st & 2nd celebrates death as a part of the human experience. Tradition holds that the dead would be offended by grieving and sadness, so festivities honor them with laughter and joy. What a beautiful sentiment.

10.01.2022 Today is 260 days since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a Pandemic and the (my) world of travel as we know it changed forever. I am weary and I am emotional so bare with me. My inbox has gone from receiving wonderful enquiries for far flung places, where you can almost sense the wonder and excitement of travelers words, to a long list of airline refund policies (that are constantly changing), enough cruise cancellations to sink a ship (or an industry) and so ...many questions that are difficult or impossible to answer. It is a welcome relief to see State borders re-opening, but with international travel restrictions likely to remain in place for the foreseeable future I am also frustrated that I constantly feel the need to remind people that travel agents can book all your domestic holiday plans as well. Please know that I am working constantly on that uninspiring email list every day for the slightest bit of good news I can share with you about a refund you are waiting on. In the meantime, when you chat with a friend or relative about Holidaying here this Year please remind them that it might be worth asking your local travel agent if they can book it.
