25.01.2022 A day at the beach. #nofilter. Just what I needed. Tranquil Fraser Island. A perfect place to sit and relax. And this is winter in Queensland - unbelievable! #holidayherethisyear #holidayinqld #travelmoments #relax #beach #travelwithkerstin_r #timeout

25.01.2022 I am giddy with excitement - I am going on a road trip. That is a big one for me as I believe if you drive longer than 3 hours you might as well fly. Planes will always remain my preferred method of travel but I also need to adapt to a different way of travel. I keep on telling everyone to explore locally, so I will show you how it is done. I am off to explore the largest sand island in the world, Fraser Island, just 3.5 hours drive from Brisbane and then a short ferry ride across to the island. Kingfisher Bay Resort will be my abode for 3 nights. My idea is to take photos, create some happy memories and only leave footprints behind. Make sure to follow me here or on Instagram @travelmanagers_kerstinr . You might just be inspired to take your own little road trip.

25.01.2022 After driving 5 hours in the rain and being stuck on the highway for 1 hour, the end of the day brings this reward. My guess.... tomorrow will be an amazing day. #herveybay #fraserisland #holidayinqld #holidayherethisyear #lovethebeach

25.01.2022 Tonight is the night! Children all over Europe will be getting ready to celebrate Saint Nicholas Day. The boots are polished and placed outside the front door ready to receive. Will Saint Nicolas bring a little present ( for those kids that were good) or leave coal and sticks ( for those that were bad as a warning)? I remember as kids we got so excited and a little worried too, would we get a smack on the bottom with the sticks or would we be getting a sweet treat? I still re...call these childhood traditions fondly and the sigh of relief in the morning when the boots were filled with goodies and a little present. The traditions and stories around Saint Nicolas vary through Europe. In Greece for example he is considered the protector of sailors. In Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg he is known as Sinterklaas who brings gifts for the children followed by more elaborate family celebrations. In Portugal he is considered the pateron saint of high-school students. With so many small countries all over Europe, this one saint has been interpreted in many ways. Don't you just love these traditions? What are some of your traditions that you celebrate in the lead up to Christmas/Hanukka/Kwanza etc? Share them in the comments. . . . . . . . . . #christmas #christmascountdown2020 #europechristmas #traditions #christmastraditions #travelwithkerstin_r #saintnicholasday #lovetradition #christmasmemories #goodorbad #candyorcoal #candy #nicelist #naughtylist

24.01.2022 Today is my day! It is World Chocolate Day. Actually in my household it is World Chocolate Day almost every day. I go stir crazy if I do not have a piece of chocolate handy to go with my afternoon coffee. And I am not taking about chocolate from the supermarkets with high sugar content but the good stuff, real chocolate. On my recent trip to Vanuatu I sampled some of the amazing handcrafted artisan chocolate from the award -winning AELAN Chocolate Makers. Every piece must ...be savoured as it is so good. Not far off on the near-by islands of Fiji you will discover another amazing chocolate maker, Fijianacacao & Adi Chocolate Fiji which started as a passion project and now produces pure, high-quality dark chocolate harvest and manufactured on Vanua Levu and shipped all over the world. These tropical chocolates are just delectable. Where does your favourite chocolate come from?

Something that satisfies the stomach & the soul and makes for memorable experiences. I invite you to come along, the more the merrier. Tentative date: Early February 2021 #dreamplantravel #exploreaustralia #foodtraveller

23.01.2022 Just read this morning it is Marzipan Week. Did not know this existed but I am more than happy to celebrate it. What has this got to do with travel? Read on and you will find out. I love Marzipan as I associate it with the beginning of Christmas even though you can buy Marzipan figurines through the year. So what is this Marzipan? It is a mixture of almonds, sugar & egg kneaded into a dough like consistency which makes it easy to shape. ... There are various thoughts on where Marzipan originated but it generally points to the Mediterranean and Middle East from where it made its way to Europe. There is one company in Germany that made Marzipan a household name: Niederegger ( As a German I am bias, I still think they produce the best Marzipan in the world). Another famous sweet that includes Marzipan is the Mozartkugel of Austrian origin. Who could go past the Marzipan stuffed dates found in the Middle East? The delicate Petit Four in France generally has a layer of marzipan in this little morsel of deliciousness. In Italy you will find Marzipan shaped into to tiny fruit and the German Christmas Stollen is best with a layer of Marzipan in the centre So there is plenty to celebrate with this humble sweet and you can taste it all over the world. Happy tasting!

23.01.2022 Happy days! Outdoors, beach, sun and sand, oh yes and cocktails - don't need much to be happy. And all this in Queensland. 23.01.2022 And that's a wrap! Last sunset on the island before I had back to reality. What a nice little break to recharge and so close to home. 21.01.2022 I love a good secret! Even better when it is coupled with a unique experience. In the past I have always looked overseas for these secret and hidden locations but with my renewed focus on Australia I have uncovered the most amazing little gems for the experience connoisseur. For years I have dreamed about sleeping in an igloo with the clear night sky as my canopy surrounded but the vastness of nature. Of course I always pictured this to be somewhere in the Northern Hemisphere.... But look what I found. This place in the Blue Mountains offers a similar, unforgettable experience. The location of these amazing igloos is only revealed to those that book, otherwise it is a well kept and hidden secret. How about it? Are you ready for me to reveal this secret to you? #uniqueexperiences #Australia #bestkeptsecret #hiddengem #travel #travelwithkerstin_r #travelmoments #experienceconnoisseur

21.01.2022 Find a beach and go for a long walk - this is the best way to start the day. From Kingfisher Bay Resort the beach walk at low tide is fabulous. So relaxing, it's like being miles away from everywhere, yet still in Queensland. And the things you find along the way: old jetties, rememnants of tractors, crabs, dingo paw prints... #holidayherethisyear #holidayinqld

20.01.2022 Whale numbers are up and they are swimming in large groups up the East Coast of Australia. Now is the perfect time to find a spot where you can experience these large mammals. Depart from the Goldcoast, Redcliff, Cleveland, Sunshine Coast, Hervey Bay and the Whitsundays, maybe add in a few nights for a perfect weekend getaway. Queensland - endless possibilities!

19.01.2022 What is the number one issue that we have been dealing with the past 9 months since COVID-19 changed our lives forever? 18.01.2022 This brought a tear or two to my eyes. Travel has just so many special elements, connecting with friends and loved ones is just one is them. I miss my family and friends that are all over the world. Hopefully I can see them soon

16.01.2022 Is travelling a form of art? It is a deep questions for a Monday but I have been pondering this over the weekend. My brief answer is YES. Through travel we design our life. All the experiences we have along the way shape our life and how we approach life. Our journeys are not so much about the destination we travel to but more about the mindset we develop along the way. Travel makes us better people. ... What do you think? Join the discussion.

16.01.2022 It is time to explore and expand your horizon! Don't let travel restriction stop you. On the contrary, you do not need to travel far, amazing experiences can be had right in your own backyard. Share your story with me. What did you find?

16.01.2022 Love a good cocktail? 19XO Wine & Cocktail in Hervey Bay is the right address for that. A great collection of fine gins, liqueurs, whiskeys and more. 15.01.2022 Dear travellers, clients, family and friends As I look back on the year that 2020 was, I see a lot of positives among the challenges: - clients that have been amazing and patient in this unpredictable situation - family & friends that provided support and encouragement in dire moments... - time to let new ideas percolate and take shape - new relationship and friendships that formed and lots more. I am relieved though that we are heading into 2021 with new hope and positivity that we will travel again. It will be my pleasure to once again be you trusted guide when making your long awaited travel plans. Wishing you and your family a joyous and festive season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! 14.01.2022 No, it is not the Okovango Delta in Botswana nor are these the Everglades in Florida. These flood plains are in Australia! With abundant wildlife guaranteed like flocks of wild magpie geese, salt-water crocodiles and herds of buffalo, this remote wilderness experience should be added to your experience wish list. It is such a special place that the Australian Bachelorette picked it for a special date and Bondi Vet Dr Christ Brown indulged in his sense for adventure. But....... Where in Australia would you find this? Give it a guess, leave a comment below. #travelexperiences #travel #uniqueexperiences #travelwithkerstin_r See more

13.01.2022 Are you an explorer or an observer? As long as I can remember I have been interested in other cultures (hence all that extensive travel in my life), their traditions, their art, their history which has shaped the way of daily life. When I first moved to Australia I was fascinated by the dreamtime stories of the Aboriginal Australians. These stories are passed down from generation to generation sharing the spiritual beliefs, the law of the land and sacred traditions. I was luc...ky to spend some time in the Northern Territories to experiences some of the traditions myself. With my new focus on such immersive experiences in Australia wouldn't it be amazing to rediscover the beauty of the land, explore untouched and remote places, connect with local aboriginal communities and venture into a secluded part of Australia that you did not even know existed and can only be accessed with special permission. Experiences like these are far and few in between and only those that consider themselves experience connoisseurs will seek to find them. These experiences exist all over Australia but only an insider will share them. Interested to find out more? PM me for more info. 11.01.2022 Dreaming of Travel It has been far too long for my liking without a trip to a favourite place. Don't you think so, too? I have travelled to many places all over the world always returning with a new found appreciation for the country visited. One country, however, stands out as a gem that is often overlooked: Vanuatu... This island is a true paradise, not too commercialised, warm and welcoming locals, plenty of places to hide, relax and simply disconnect from the busyness of life, adventures if you want some, an abundance of aquatic life and stunning natural beauty. Oh, and the cocktails are amazing too. What more can you ask for? Where is a place in the world that you would call your sanctuary? Inspire me in the comment.

10.01.2022 I love a good sunset. This one is top notch. Glad I live in Queensland where this is a normal, every day occurrence. Just come for a visit to see yourself. #holidayherethisyear #holidayinqld

09.01.2022 I have always been honest, I'm addicted to air travel With Covid-19 it has been a struggle. But today my luck changed. Found a guy with a plane on 75 Mile Beach. And he took me on a scenic flight. Winning!

08.01.2022 Travel for me is like the activity that restores my sanity and my equlibrium. I generally include 4 key elements: Food&Wine / some form of activity (soft adventure) / Nature&Walking / local connections. Those 4 key elements turn every trip into a unique experience. Most important though, I always make a point of being present to enjoy the moment. Don't even bother going on a holiday if you are not prepared to swtich off and bring your thoughts to the here and now. I savour m...oments where nothing else matters except what is right in front of you. It is as if I am truly alive and not just on auto-pilot. These are some of my favrouites: - Sitting high on top of a cliff overlooking the ebb and flow of the ocean - getting a bird's eye view on helicopter or light plan - enjoying quiet contemplation on the beach - being surround by old and new friends - witnessing the best nature has to offer. Which of my 4 key elements resonate with you? 08.01.2022 20 years and counting...... No, I am not talking about my age or how long I have been married, I am talking about the time I have spent working in the travel industry, over 30 years if you count the entire time I have been travelling and living all over the world. I guess you could call TRAVEL my truest and deepest passion. Just put me on a plane and my heart starts to race with excitement of what this new adventure may bring. When I visit a new place I usually look for memo...rable and authentic experiences, the best place to try some local food and a way to connect with the local community - it is almost like a need to immerse myself to really get a feel for a place. With this same passion and all the knowledge I have gathered, I also help my clients to have the most unique experiences all over the world. After all who wants ordinary when you can have extraordinary? What is one of your most memorable travel experiences? Please share these with me in the comments as I am always looking to add new ideas to my list.

08.01.2022 The end of an era marked with a brilliantly executed flight pattern Farewell 747. You will be missed

07.01.2022 Time to say goodbye to 2020 and let go of a year that challenged us beyond belief and open our minds to the possibilities of 2021. 2020 tested my patience, my strength and my resilience to keep moving forward despite knockback after knockback. The travel industry has been battered and bruised, but guess what? - I am still here and will continue to stay so we can new trips together. It will still take a while before the world opens up and can be explored, once again bringing ...us new and unique adventures. But don't forget the amazing experiences you can have on Australian soil. Our land is as unique and mesmerizing as anywhere else in the world, you just need to take a closer look. In the meantime join me in keeping the travel dream alive. Once I am allowed to travel again my first trip will be to Sri Lanka. Where would your trip take you? What have you been dreaming of? Wishing you a Happy New Year and a magical year ahead Kerstin xx

05.01.2022 Australians are a travelling nation... do you agree? A recent poll revealed that 1 in 2 Australians will still be going on holiday in 2020. And more than 50% of these travelling Australians have opted to explore their own country. Yet surprisingly 1 in 6 would consider to travel overseas to a country that did not have many COVID-19 cases. Approx 34% of the surveyed Australian declared they would never set foot on a cruise ship again. And even better for the travel industry 1 ...in 5 have already locked in a getaway. This makes my heart sing. Travel will resume, step by step. Where do you fit into this survey?

04.01.2022 We in Australia are blessed! That is a simple fact. We have amazing beaches, plenty of natural wonders, an outback that is second to none, a barrier reef that is visible from space, unique wildlife, primary rain forest and an underwater world to make others jealous. As we are looking to holidaying in Australia. why not visit reef islands like Heron Island or Lady Elliot Island. They both offer accommodation for couples and families. Best of all, while snorkelling you may enc...ounter turtles and an abundance of coral fish in the clear waters surrounding these islands. If you visit between October and March you will see the turtles laying their eggs and between January and May you can see the hatchlings hurry back to the sea. What an amazing experience for any age! 01.01.2022 Are you a foodie? Are you a food traveller? I think I definitely am! Wherever I go in the world I always need to find a restaurant where I can sample real local food. That is the best way to connect with the local culture and traditions. Cured meats, fermented foods, hand-rolled cheeses, traditional pastry, handmade pasta and breads, local spices - all these elements make a local food experience memorable. I am always looking for amazing restaurants around the world that I c...an add to my must-try list. Let me know where you had your best and most memorable meal. I'll go first: mine was at 3600m in the Peruvian Andes at a place call MIL where enjoyed that amazing view of the mountains and an 8 course degustation meal called from 'Sea-level to High altitude".
