25.01.2022 Today I hit a new milestone... cancelling the last international booking I have left for the year Not going to lie, it's sad... really sad. In saying that, I also feel a sense of relief and and a tad of happiness to think I've got through the shitstorm that has been 2020, other agents haven't been so lucky. With only a few more refunds left to process, it's time to wipe the slate clean and get ready for what I think (and hope) will be a busy 2021. Cancelling a holiday is no where near as fun as planning and booking one... so from here on in here's to positive vibes that our borders are open soon and I can start planning some dream holidays again because damn I've missed it! 25.01.2022 Help! I have brochure overload! Three months ago I did a brochure order in preparation for a travel talk I had to do.. the presentation happened 2 months ago and my brochure order only arrived this week! Would anyone like me to send them the latest 20/21 brochures for travel within WA, specifically Broome & The Kimberley, Cocos and Christmas Island and anywhere else in Australia for that matter?... Some great reading material if you work in an office or simply want to browse yourself whilst having a cuppa. Let me know and I'll be happy to post them to you

24.01.2022 Calling all ladies! I've got two spots available for this event next month! It'll be a fun day full of great food and wine exploring our beautiful Swan Valley by Kombi Van

24.01.2022 FUN FACT FRIDAY! Airplane Window Holes. Have you ever wondered what the tiny little hole in the plane window might be for? Well it is the breather hole, which allows the planes outer panes to manage the pressure difference when the airplane flies higher. Because of this, the cabin remains safe and comfortable. Now all we need is for the borders to open so we can take another look at this tiny little hole and be amused that we know the answer as to why it is.

23.01.2022 Some great news to finish the week! How's everyone feeling about it? Nervous? ... Too soon? Excited? See more

22.01.2022 A day in travel history that I'll never forget. On this day... 19 years ago (10 September), 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift. None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted.

22.01.2022 I love a good read of a Lonely Planet Guide but didn't particularly enjoy these latest editions

18.01.2022 R U OK? A simple question that could save a life...

16.01.2022 One thing I love doing when I travel is taking photos of the people.... locals getting on with their every day life without a care in the world. Their version of happiness is often very different to ours with many living simply and content with what they have. Every face has an untold story and often looking into their eyes you almost feel like you're looking into their souls. #themanyfacesoftravel #travelphotography

04.01.2022 CHRISTMAS ISLAND 'The Galapagos of the Indian Ocean' You may be thinking that I've lost my mind and that I'm going to be telling you about a place that's really only known to be home to our Immigration Detention Centre used to accommodate asylum seekers.... ... Well, this might surprise you... I used to book one of my corporate clients here every week and it was after some time that they continued telling me how incredible this place was that I soon began to realise that I had to do more research on it to see what made it so amazing. The conclusion ...Christmas Island in my opinion is probably one of WA's best kept secrets...so much so... many people don't even know it's part of Australia and assume that because it's so close to Indonesia that you even need a passport to get there...wrong. Located only 2600 km's northwest of Perth, it's not your typical island paradise but with almost two-thirds of the island being National Park it's a nature lovers paradise. Here you'll find red crabs, sea birds, whale sharks and if you're a diver, some spectacular coral reefs. It's one event though every year that has tourists from all over the world (but not this year, it's all ours to explore!) coming here in droves to witness...the Annual Red Crab Migration. If you haven't heard of the annual Red Crab Migration in Christmas Island it certainly deserves a Google search just to see photos of what actually occurs... it's pretty incredible. Between late October to December, you'll see MILLIONS of red crabs leave their homes in the forest to head towards the ocean to breed. The roads are covered in a sea of red as they scurry towards the sea. If you're looking for somewhere unique to travel and have interests in bird-watching, photography, diving and snorkelling then this is the place for you. DID YOU KNOW? Dolly Beach in Christmas Island was voted number 7 in the 2017 Best Beaches in Australia!! GETTING THERE Virgin Australia operate flights from Perth twice a week ACCOMMODATION Accommodation on Christmas Island is varied, from rustic self contained cabins to tropical villas and a new secluded eco lodge. HOW TO GET AROUND A car is essential as there is no public transport and only one taxi operates with limited hours. Your car will be waiting at the airport when you arrive and returned when you're ready to return home. Packages inclusive of airfares, car hire and accommodation are the way to go and often cheaper than booking separately. If you'd like more info or a brochure please feel free to contact me, happy to help

04.01.2022 K U N U N U R R A A country town that's often overlooked but one that's certainly worth visiting! Kununurra may not have the white sandy beaches like it's rival, Broome but there's alot to love about this place. Kununurra is a fantastic base to explore some of the Kimberleys most spectacular and iconic sights. ... Here's a few reasons why I think Kununurra should be on your #wanderoutyonder places to go and what to do when you're there! * Travel the Gibb River Road to El Questro and experience a stay at either the Homestead or at Emma Gorge *Enjoy a cruise along the Ord River * Witness a spectacular Kimberley sunset * Spend a night at Lake Argyle * Take a 4WD tour, do some croc watching and travel to some of the lesser known National Parks in the area * Visit Durack Homestead and learn the history of the pioneering days * Experience the stunning Kimberley region by air- a scenic flight over the Bungle Bungles is a must! *Take a stroll around Kununurras township and it's many galleries Need help planning your Kimberley adventure? I'd love to help

02.01.2022 Where has Linda been? Well she's been doing a little Wander Out Yonder herself! Throughout all the chaos that's happening in the world there's always a silver lining and this just happens to be mine! For those of you who don't know, some time ago I teamed up with another TravelManager and together we created a side-gig called Travelling Femmes- a female only travel group. This weekend we travelled to the stunning Margaret River region with a great bunch of lovely ladies and spent a day walking the Cape to Cape. What a weekend it was- We honestly have some of the most stunning coastlines in WA and it was amazing to be able to explore it by foot!
