25.01.2022 S is for || SAN FRANCISCO One of my favourite cities I have visited, there is so much to do in San Francisco! Here are my top things to experience in this magnificent city. 1. Sample the freshest seafood chowder at Fisherman's Wharf, even if you aren't a seafood fan, the stalls are still fascinating 2. Jump on a Cable Car to tame the steep city streets, this is definitely the easiest way to get around. 3. Spend some time strolling the streets of Sausalito... just across the b...ay from the city, the views back across to San Fran are phenomenal. Plus Sausalito has some amazing shops, cafes and restaurants of it's own. 4. Hire a bike for the day to ride over the Golden Gate Bridge, it is a great workout but the experience (and the views!) are well worth it. 5. See (and smell!) the sea lions at Pier 39. 6. Jump on the ferry to see a different side of the Golden Gate Bridge 7. Pre-book your tickets to visit the infamous Alcatraz prison and learn about some of San Fran's more notorious inmates. 25.01.2022 First face-to-face client planning meeting in 12 months this weekend. . I have a feeling they are going to have a wonderful trip! . Can you guess where in our beautiful country they are off to?

22.01.2022 W is for || WEST INDIES Technically, the West Indies comprises of a number of Caribbean islands including Jamaica, Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas (plus many more!) I have included this in my A-Z because this region is actually top of my husband’s bucket list! His dream, a cricket tour around the West Indies. Not my idea of fun but I am not opposed to visiting this beautiful part of the world, I am sure we can compromise on the cricket, right? Check out some of the top islands re-opening this year.

19.01.2022 U is for || UKRAINE The Ukraine is seeing a recent resurgence in travellers wanting to visit the exclusion zone surrounding the Chernobyl nuclear power plant including the ghost town of Prypyat. A photographers dream, this area was deserted back in 1986 after the worst nuclear disaster in recent times, and is now uninhabitable. The photos certainly speak for themselves...... An organised tour of this intriguing place is recommended, not least to ensure the correct safety procedures are in place for this highly radioactive area.

18.01.2022 Q is for || QUEENSTOWN Bring on that Trans-Tasman bubble! + = The jewel of the New Zealand South Island, Queenstown is an adrenaline junkies paradise. From skiing in the Winter, to Water sports in the summer - check out the top 10 adventure activities in Queenstown below.

17.01.2022 T is for || THAILAND Thailand is right up there as one of my favourite destinations. I have been so lucky to visit this amazing country 3 times and each time I have sampled a different area. I recommend breaking up your Thailand trip to really experience the different cultures, cuisines and people. My suggested Thailand Holiday 2 weeks. ... 4 nights Bangkok this city is fast-paced but there is so much to see. Some of my favourite things are: - Visit the Grand Palace - Take a boat down the Chao Phraya river and into the many khlongs (canals) that work their way through the city. - Sample the amazing street food in Chinatown. - Shop up a storm at many of the amazing shopping malls including the famous MBK Centre. 3 nights Chiang Mai up into the Northern parts of Thailand, Chiang Mai is a smaller city with so many historical sights. My favourite things to do are: - The night markets are amazing and well worth more than one visit. - Wander through the Old City and visit the many wats (temples) - Take a trip to the hills surrounding the city to see traditional village life - Take a Thai Cooking class, and learn how to make some of the best traditional dishes. 7 nights pick an island, any island! OK so Thailand is very well known for it’s island life but they are all so different. So depending on how you like to travel, here are my top 5 Thai islands: - Phuket the most well known island, it is well established for tourists with many resorts on offer. Ideal for groups and families. - Koh Samui a lot smaller and some would say slightly more up-scale, Samui is a great option for honeymooners and couples. - Ko Tao a divers paradise, this small island is perfect for those who want to get away from it all. - Koh Chang one of my favourite places, Koh Chang is one of the more northern islands in Thailand, close to the Cambodian border. It is a mixture of old and new, perfect for groups or backpackers wanting a different Thai experience. - Koh Pha Ngan is very well known for it’s full moon parties so is a younger crowds island. However once the parties are over and the people have left, this island is laid-back, stunningly beautiful and a perfect place to relax. See more

14.01.2022 THANK YOU Thank you for coming along on my A-Z destination guide journey, it has been wonderful to talk about travel again in a time when we are not physically able to! Thank you to all my lovely clients who submitted stories and photos for me to share. I can't wait to send you all off on another trip in the not-too-distant future... WHAT'S NEXT FOR ME Whilst the international borders are still closed, and domestic travel is quite limited, I will be working with tourism bodies to up-skill my travel knowledge, continue working with my current clients on their affected bookings and mostly keep engaging on my socials as much as possible. I will also be working on some new blog posts based on my A-Z guide and I may even sneak in a little domestic getaway somewhere along the way! Stay safe! Rachel x

04.01.2022 SAD FACE|| So today we should have been flying out to Bali... 3 nights amongst the hills of Ubud and then 6 nights by the beach in beautiful Sanur. . I encourage you, if you are no longer able to travel due to Covid-19, celebrate anyway! . Eat some delicious food from your destination, make some cocktails, watch a doco, follow the hotel/Resort on Insta for inspiration.... . You will get there one day when the world opens up again. In the meantime, enjoy being home and present with your loved ones. You can still create beautiful memories in these moments . Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to shop for ingredients for Nasi Goreng and some fruity cocktails See more

01.01.2022 R is for || ROVANIEMI You may not recognise the official name of this place but let's just say it is also known as the North Pole. Located at the very top of Finnish Lapland, Rovaniemi is famous for housing Santa's workshop, the Northern Lights and a myriad of other snow-based activities. The McNabb family spent 5 days in Rovaniemi earlier this year and share their photos and experiences below:... Your name Di & Steve McNabb Who did you travel with? Our 2 daughters, their husbands and children Describe Rovaniemi in 5 words: An amazing magical winter wonderland What was the highlight of your time in Rovaniemi? The dog sledding was definitely a highlight!

01.01.2022 V is for || VANUATU Our beautiful neighbours in Vanuatu are waiting in anticipation for this ‘travel bubble’ to happen with Australia. Why? Because Aussie tourists are the lifeblood of their tourism industry. ... Only a short 3 hour flight, you can find yourself in a tropical paradise, cue cocktail in hand! Or if you are a cruiser, Vanuatu is almost always on the South Pacific cruise itineraries, making this lovely island one of our favourite travel destinations. 01.01.2022 Z is for || ZIMBABWE Located in the heart of Africa, it is the natural wonders that are the most popular reason that people visit this country. The Zambezi River, one of the largest rivers in all of Africa, is home to hippopotamus, crocodiles and is also the lifeblood for many other African animals that you may be lucky enough to see on safari. Perhaps one of the biggest draw cards to this region is Victoria Falls, considered to be the largest waterfall in the world in terms of width and height combined. The falls can be accessed from both Zimbabwe and Zambia as it borders both countries. I have shared some amazing picture from my clients Samone Hawkes and Jarryd Hawkes from their trip to Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls.
