23.01.2022 Did you know that Western Australia has the biggest rock in the world? North of WA is Mount Augustus, is approximately two-and-a-half times the size of Uluru (aka Ayers Rock) ! Come and see it for yourself with our 5 day Mount Augustus and Walga Rock Tour Package Itinerary Details... Day 1 North out of Perth to New Norcia for a morning tea break. On via Dalwallinu and Wubin along the Great Northern Highway to Paynes Find where we have a break, then move on to the Gold Mining Towns of Mount Magnet and Cue. Day 2 Cue is a well-restored historic Murchison town. On to Meekatharra. We leave the bitumen travelling to Mount Gould police station, built in the late 1800’s to police Aboriginals who were killing settlers’ stock. Picnic lunch, before a visit to Landor Station, famous for its bush race meeting. Arriving at Mount Augustus Station our home for two nights. Day 3 At Mt. Augustus we enjoy a tour including Edney Spring and Flintstone Rock. Later a visit to Cattle Pool on the nearby Lyons River for a walk under the river gums while while looking back on the sheer northern face of the majestic mount. After lunch, it is an opportunity to rest and relax in this outback oasis. Day 4 Turning south we cross the Gascoyne and Murchinson Rivers and return to Cue. In the afternoon we visit Walga Rock, a monolith which is 5 km around the base and 1.5 km long, the second largest in Australia. We have a bush BBQ and return to Cue. Day 5 On to Yalgoo and a visit to Jokers Tunnel (a mining drive through a hill from one side to the other). Then on to the diagonal road to Morawa for lunch. Through the rural scenery to Perth. 07.01.2022 NEWS FLASH!!! WA to Open Hard Border on 14th November! Western Australia will remove its hard border policy and move to a "controlled border" arrangement from November 14, which will permit residents from states and territories deemed low risk to enter without undertaking quarantine. The existing hard border exemption system will be removed and replaced with the controlled interstate border regime, established on an updated nationwide health-based threshold that allows fo...r safe travel into Western Australia from interstate with conditions, and subject to trigger points being met. Under this system, travel from ‘very low risk’ states and territories will be permitted, with conditions on arrival including declarations, temperature tests and possible COVID-19 testing. These jurisdictions currently include Tasmania, Queensland, South Australia, Australian Capital Territory and Northern Territory because they have had no community cases for more than 28 days. Travel from ‘low risk’ states and territories also permitted, with similar conditions on arrival, in addition to 14 days of self-quarantine and a mandatory Day 11 COVID-19 test. These jurisdictions currently include New South Wales and Victoria because they have less than five community cases per day on a 14-day rolling average. Failure to follow these directions or providing false information will be enforceable by law, with penalties ranging from $1,000 infringements, to up to $50,000 fines for individuals. The controlled border still includes important and strong protections for our State, but within it we must also maintain our vigilance to keep our State safe and strong. All Western Australians must embrace COVID-safe principles. That means acting responsibly and following the health advice.
