14.01.2022 #WorldEnvironmentDay 2020: Time #ForNature. This year marks the 20th anniversary of World Environment Day, celebrated each year on the 5th of June. It is alwa...ys an important day on the global calendar and, at no other time, has it been so relevant throughout the world and particularly within Australia, as the environment begins to recover from the extraordinary consequences of drought, flood and fire on our ecosystems and habitats. The world as a whole is suffering from the effects of many environmental issues: climate change, natural disasters, human conflicts, uninformed ecosystem management, hazardous waste to name a few. Although Australians as a whole have never been more aware of the distress and threat to our native species, World Environment Day highlights how important conservation and protection is for the natural environment, its ecosystems and wider biodiversity. For more than a quarter of a century, together, we have been committed to preventing the extinction of Australia’s endangered flora and fauna. Our mission to raise and effectively direct funds to projects that will save Australia’s endangered species from extinction is vital in overall conservation management. By funding smaller but vital on-ground conservation projects that would otherwise never receive funding, we are working towards our vision to prevent any further extinctions of Australian flora and fauna. Today, on World Environment Day, this vision could not be more relevant. Together, we can make a difference. WorldEnvironmentDay UN Environment Programme
