22.01.2022 "RAINY DAY - Acoustic Sessions" https://abcmusic.lnk.to/RainyDayAcoustic With no touring for most of 2020, the only way I could play my new songs from 'Wreck Me' to fans, was in isolation.. livestreams, entirely acoustic - just me and a guitar. Pretty soon, I really started hearing and appreciating them in a new light.. I started thinking "it'd be a cool little project to make acoustic versions"..... So, I spent some time (I had plenty) re-working, re-recording, mixing and tweaking and exploring. Please enjoy x
21.01.2022 Thankyou.. It's taken a few days to find the right words to properly say thanks for the six Golden Guitar nominations I received last week.. Chatting recently with a mate who laughingly said ''You'd be getting used to this stuff now yeah, no big deal right?". Suddenly, the words came. It actually is a big deal to me.. and I'm nowhere near 'used to it'.. I'm more excited, grateful and inspired by these nominations than any before. ... Further, these moments mean a lot to the believers that rallied behind me over the years and encouraged me to keep pushing through some pretty tough, challenging, and lean times. Not that long ago, I couldn't win a raffle.. let alone a music award. Seriously - I could write a book! Over these most recent 3 or 4 years, you've validated my journey. The struggles and perseverance.. To me, there's only one feeling higher than validated, and that is loved - in moments like this, I feel both. Today, I'm smiling as I think back to January 1996, when I was busking in Peel Street at my first Tamworth Country Music Festival. They say 'a picture paints a thousand words', so enjoy these.. Even for me, it's hard to believe these are all the same 'kid'. Thanks, and love! Travis
20.01.2022 ANNOUNCING: ‘WRECK ME ACOUSTIC SESSIONS’ FULL ALBUM - AVAILABLE DIGITALLY, DECEMBER 4 The acoustic album is the companion to his 2020 ARIA Best Country Album of the Year nominated release and ARIA #1 Country Album ‘Wreck Me’. ... Wreck Me Acoustic Sessions features all the tracks from the original studio album, re-worked acoustically by Travis from his home in the Hunter Valley. As Travis explains it As live music ground to a halt and touring plans collapsed all around us in 2020, the only outlet I had to perform my new songs to fans, was online live streaming. So, every Friday night, I’d play for them; just me, a guitar and hundreds of them connecting through songs being played in their simplest and rawest form acoustic. Before long, I started hearing and appreciating these songs in a whole new way, and soon realised how versatile this collection of songs on ‘Wreck Me’ were. It wasn’t long before the idea of an acoustic album came to mind and I couldn’t switch that thought off. At first, I was just exploring the idea and messing with a couple of songs replacing drums with percussion, and electric guitars with banjo, or new acoustic guitar parts - but it quickly started to develop its own authentic feel, which excited me, and led to a full-blown reworking of all 9 tracks. It's the entire ‘Wreck Me’ album, through a new and different lens.
