Even if you can’t create loyal customers, retargeting customers who have visited previously with awesome offers around special events, changes in season, one off special days, etc will still imp...act the bottom line. Whatever marketing channel/s you choose to use will have little impact if the customer experience with your business is lack lustre, thus the chance of repeat business maybe slim. So next time you consider a marketing campaign, ask yourself how can I use this marketing channel to enable loyalty or retargeting. For example instead of giving away wifi, collect some data and send a Thankyou Offer via email or use a Mobile Wallet coupon that can be used on their next visit.

22.01.2022 MARKETING CHANNELS - Dead or overpriced No marketing channel is ever dead, some may suit better than others for a particular demographic and what you are trying to achieve, but the main issue these days is that a lot of "old" world marketing channels ie print, tv, radio are over priced compared to some of the "new" channels ie. Facebook, Email, Messenger, etc. And while a lot of businesses still prefer the print, tv, radio advertising channels, it makes common sense to take ...a small portion from the budget in these channels and apportion some marketing dollars towards the newer channels ie Facebook Ads, Email, Youtube Video, etc. A business needs to be where their customers are or engage their customers within.....that maybe Facebook or Instagram, WiFi or Mobile Wallet marketing for example, so spending a few dollars and engaging potential leads and customers thru these channels would make good sense. Another benefit of some digital channels is that for the same price or a fraction more you can get additional bang for your buck, ie. notifications, beacon and geo location awareness, viral capability thru sharing, automated sequences, etc., some or most of this is hard to achieve with traditional marketing channels. Don't get me wrong, there is a place for traditional marketing, it's just that in a world that is increasingly digital and mobile, it makes sense to put some marketing dollars into some of the "new" channels. Some unfortunately may not get through these tough times, others have adjusted to make ends meet to get through or will take advantage of government packages to get through.
