18.01.2022 Breastfeeding fun fact! Since this post is getting so much attention, I thought I would add some info. This is in no way meant to shame formula feeding or worki...ng moms. Or anyone for that matter. It's just pointing out how much work breastfeeding is to help people understand how time consuming it actually is. If you think the math is off, think again. I breastfed every 2 hours for a minimum of 30 minutes at a time 24 hours a day. Yes even through the night! That's 12 times a day at 30 minutes a pop which is 6 hours in a 24 hour period. For an entire year. And that doesn't even include cluster feeding during growth spurts. And while I know all babies are different, I would say on average 1800 hours is accurate. I promise. For those stating "just pump and feed later", not everyone has that option. For example, I didn't respond to the pump at all as well as my son would never take a bottle. Also, exclusively pumping is as hard if not harder than exclusively breastfeeding, at least in the beginning! Motherhood is hard no matter which path you take! In no way was this post meant to one up anyone else. It was just meant to be a lighthearted fun fact about breastfeeding. See more
