24.01.2022 Release of Biocontrol for Cat's Claw I have just released the biocontrol at an infestation in Atherton. The biocontrol is a leaf-mining jewel beetle (Hylaeogena... jureceki), native to South America. The beetle will only survive on Cat's Claw, where it completes it whole life cycle. Cat’s claw creeper is a vine that uses its' three-clawed tendrils which are used to climb over vegetation and smother it. See more

19.01.2022 Treat's AGM is on Friday 4th September 2020. Nominations are invited for the various positions on the TREAT management committee and will be accepted until 20th August. A list of nominees will be available for viewing at the nursery by members for 2 weeks prior to the AGM. Members are reminded that they must be financial when voting for the new committee

14.01.2022 A request from a local wildlife carer with Tablelands Wildlife Rescue. "One of my possums in care is a very fussy Ringtail Possum. I've found a Syzygium which he loves that is not native to Australia. Its a Syzygium jambos. The one I found is outside Atherton dog park. Would you happen to know where there are some Syzygium jambos on the Tablelands?" Does anyone else have this species or know where to find some?

09.01.2022 Urgent update to Covid 19 precautions in the TREAT workplace - 26 March 2020. Tomorrow 27 March 2020 will be the last day for volunteer assistance at the Nursery - until further notice. Tomorrow the only people who should attend the nursery have been specifically asked to attend, the aim is to keep the numbers at 10 people only. ... These have been selected from those who indicated last Friday that they would be available. Seed preparation at home will be given to those contacted from the volunteers. If anyone needs to visit the Nursery in the future, either to collect trees or fruit for processing, they must ring ahead to let Peter know. Mobile 0488 759 805 or Nursery 4095 3406. There will be further advice concerning the planting on 4th April at a later date.
