24.01.2022 This little coastal village is beautiful. The stairs down to the beach are only a few metres from our caravan. It's been so long since the kids have had decent time at the beach. We didn't spend much time at the beach when we were on the coast over Christmas and New Year. The weather was miserable. The weather in Broom's Head this week, however, is perfect.... Living in Cairns we avoided the beaches because of the stingers and crocs. Missing this beach lifestyle is why we're not planning on ever returning to FNQ to live. We've both agreed that when we do settle down again it will be near beaches we can swim at year round.

20.01.2022 We've been wondering whether we might, at times, regret replacing our off-road Jayco camper with an on-road Coromal caravan. We've replaced the ability to go anywhere with comfort and convenience. But then we chanced upon this amazing campsite at Boundary Falls in Gibraltar Range National Park. 13.01.2022 What an adventure filled day! The kids smashed out their school work nice and early. We headed into Rockhampton to have a picnic and then go to the free zoo at the Rockhampton Botanical Gardens. After checking out the animals we headed for the amazing playground at Kershaw Gardens. 06.01.2022 Last year we purchased an annual CAPTA pass and we've certainly gotten our money's worth. The pass gives you access to Zoom Wildlife Dome, Kuranda Butterfly Sanctuary, Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas and Rainforestation. It's so good to be able to say to the kids, "let's go and say hello to the animals." This time they tell me they want to do the ropes course next visit. The CaPTA Group Cairns Zoom and Wildlife Dome
03.01.2022 A few weeks ago we bought an older Jayco Eagle Outback. We're fixing her up ready to set off around Australia again at the end of the year. First step has been cleaning out the caravan ready for a test run this week. As you can see by the state of the cushion covers, she's had a good life . After our test run we're going to paint the inside, cover the cushions, upgrade the solar, add hot water and do lots of other bits and pieces. ... Watch this space for progress shots as the Tree&Pixie family prepare to travel once again.
