25.01.2022 No filters used here. This is a shot I took of Chalet Bluegum in the late afternoon. The light makes those Rosegums look beautiful. We love how the colour of the tree trunks change with the seasons.

25.01.2022 Red tailed Cockatoo in flight. We have so many of these beautiful birds on the farm at the moment. One day I aspire to getting the ultimate in-focus photo of the birds in flight. How beautiful do the wing feathers look here!

Whicher Ridge Wines @whicherridgewines offer a unique wine tasting experience where visitors can taste their wines, take a tour through the sensory garden and learn how to describe the flavours they are tasting and how to pair foods with wines. Tree Chalet guests often pop over to Whicher Ridge Winery to take a tour. Each chalet has a big picnic blanket and a picnic basket with wine glasses included. All that is needed is some local artisan food to add from our gourmet hampers and the perfect picnic will be had.

18.01.2022 Its that time of year when the beach calls. Crisp clean white sand, crystal clear waters and lots of space to spread out on the sand. We have so many private little beaches and long stretches of beach that it really is possible to get away from it all. Tourism WA

17.01.2022 This is a shot I took on an evening walk along kangaroo walk at Tree Chalets. These 2 little guys were having a nap on the track. As I got closer they stood up to check me out. The kangaroo closest to the camera has a white dot on its forehead. This family of kangaroos have been on the farm for at least half a century. Kangaroo walk is about a 2km stretch of track between the plantations and down the fence line of the property. Adventurous guests can extend their walk to cross the creek and walk the entire perimeter of the property, which is about a 4 km walk.

13.01.2022 Introducing the team at Tree Chalets. Our boys, Matt and Myles are now 16 and 17 and taller than both of us. They both help out occasionally with the chalets when things get crazy busy. Andrew works fulltime on the chalets and he looks after guests during their stay with us. We always take the time to personally greet our guests when they first arrive. It's a real pleasure to to do this and let people know about our beautiful property and special local places to visit.

There is a great cafe @yardbyrd and so many photo opportunities around the town. When you are next down south Witchy is worth a visit.

11.01.2022 Take a close look at this rock formation. Can you see the sleeping giant? This photo was taken at Canal Rocks in Yallingup. The flowers on the coastal walk trails are starting to bloom. Such a beautiful time of the year to take a coastal walk.

11.01.2022 Day trip inspo. A trip down to Augusta to view the sunset is a really special and relaxing way to spend an afternoon. This historic waterwheel used to supply the nearby Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse keepers with water. The waterwheel was built to power a hydraulic ram, which would pump water from the nearby swamp to supply the lighthouse and keepers cottages. It has become encrusted with a coating of limestone and is now frozen in rock. Water from the spring still flows through the sluice-way, with the high calcium content protecting this historic feature from the ravages of ageing.

10.01.2022 Summer Day Trip Inspo... Have you taken a refreshing dip in the Injidup Natural Spa. A big recommendation here is to wear sneakers. Yes sneakers will look daggy with your bathers, but your feet will thank you afterwards as there a quite a few rocks to negotiate before you reach the spa. This beautiful natural phenomenon is just a few minutes drive from Yallingup, towards Margaret River along Caves Road. Turn off Caves road onto Wyadup Road and follow it right to the end to the carpark. Here you will have amazing views of the Indian Ocean. A short walk from the carpark to the right you'll find a large rock pool. On a good day, when the surf is blasting through a little wedge you can sit just below and enjoy a natural massage.

Bird Walk will take guests through a section of Marri and Jarrah groves where the smaller birds like to sit and sing their songs. Kangaroo walk will most often give guests a look at our resident kangaroo family at Tree Chalets. Guests can also purchase a Walk Trail Treats hamper from our website, so they can go for walks and also enjoy some gourmet nibbles on the way.

08.01.2022 Awwww.. Spring is in the air and we have lots of these cute little guys at Tree Chalets. They love to poke their heads out of their mum's pouches and take in the world. When they are this small they only occasionally jump out of the pouch. As they grow a little bigger, they will get more confident and come out more frequently to graze on the grass. When their mum thinks it's time to head off, they will jump head first into the pouch and then wriggle around until their head pops out. It's really funny to watch.

06.01.2022 Guests often ask us "which chalet has the best view"? Well this is a difficult one for us as both chalets have pretty stunning views. And we have designed the chalets so that no matter where you are sitting you will get a view! This photo was taken just off the deck of Chalet Rosegum. The flowers are called 4 o'clocks and every year they come up near Chalet Rosegum. As their name sake says, by four o'clock they close up for the day.

02.01.2022 A splash of colour in the Australian bush. Scarlet Robins are incredibly cute and cheeky The male has a bright scarlet-red chest and a white belly. The female is pale brown, darker above, and has a dull reddish breast and whitish throat. We often see pairs of scarlet robins flitting about sitting on the tops of fenceposts near the chalets. They are quite easy to photograph too. I have found that if they have perched on a post and then fly away, they will often come back to that post a few minutes later. So the secret is to sit tight, get the camera ready and wait for them to return!

02.01.2022 This is the type of castle we have in the southwest. Castle Rock. Just a hop, step and jump down the coast from Dunsborough. Hikers pass this on the Meelup Regional Walk Trail. A great day trip idea!

01.01.2022 Introducing the Black Cockatoo. We have both red-tailed and white tailed at Tree Chalets. They love sitting in the redgum trees and devouring all of the gumnuts. It's spectacular when a flock flies overhead and you can see all of the red tails fanning out. They are quite easy to photograph too when they settle in a tree. 01.01.2022 ts nearly that time of year when the weather is perfect for evening beach walks along the Busselton foreshore. Such a relaxing thing to do and the water is perfect for a quick dip too. The sunsets at Busselton beaches are simply breathtaking, as the sunsets across the ocean. It's a magical time of the year.
