23.01.2022 Yet another study proves how important urban trees are. What are we doing to ourselves here in Perth with our town planning and the scorched earth and concrete policies with handkerchief size artificial lawns without room for any trees, turning our suburbs into furnaces in summer... ?! We really have to lobby our government to green our suburbs and make it compulsory for new developments to leave room for trees and shopping centres to plant trees in their car parks and around buildings... deciduous trees! Also the streets should be tree lined!

21.01.2022 The wonderful world of mushrooms. A lot of mushrooms are plant or tree specific and won't grow anywhere else.

12.01.2022 Changing Colors..... One of my ACER NEGUNDO SENSATION at home, this afternoon. A truly stunning tree for your backyard. Even in summer the leaf margins have a tinch of red - and the autumn color....well, just spectacular. This is only the beginning of the Negundo's color change, just a little tease.....

09.01.2022 Ancient yew trees on each side of the north doorway of the 1,000 year-old St. Edwards Church in Stow-on-the-Wold, England.

09.01.2022 If we in the rest of the world only would learn from Israel and Switzerland... I remember, when my father used to work in the forest back in Switzerland, many years ago, it was law that not only every bit of forest that was cut down had to be replaced, but on top of that, an extra 10%. I hope that this practise is still in place today, for without forests we all die.....! Trees contribute so much to our quality of life, so think twice before you cut one down. If you really have to, replace it with another one that maybe more appropriate for your place... or better make that two ! : )

08.01.2022 Well worth reading, especially if you have children or pets.....

07.01.2022 The wonderful world of mushrooms. A lot of mushrooms are plant or tree specific and wont grow anywhere else.

07.01.2022 While Australia is currently free of the invasive bacteria Xylella, the disease has been catastrophic overseas. It has infected more than 200 million citrus tre...es in Brazil, destroyed 1 million olive trees in Italy, and cost Californias grape sector losses in excess of US$100 million a year. The impact on Australian horticulture and the environment would be equally devastating. If Xylella takes hold in Australia, the Australian Bureau of Agricultural & Resource Economics & Sciences (ABARES) has estimated it could cost Australias grape and wine sector alone up to $7.9 billion over 50 years. Everybody has a role to play in preventing Xylella. You can help by following the rules when youre at the airport by declaring all plant material on your Incoming Passenger Card. If youre importing plant material, ensure you purchase it from commercial retailers and report anything unusual or suspicious. Find out more about Xylella Fastidiosa here agriculture.gov.au/pests-diseases-weeds/plant/xylella
