24.01.2022 More iso thoughts from our Young Adults... Here is my Isolation poem, it's called ISOLATION SUCKS. Inside all the time makes me feel trapped,... Scrubbing my hands clean all the time, Organising the house and cleaning is quite fun at the moment, Leaving the house is impossible unless going to get groceries, And spending lots of time on Netflix is a must, Thinking of isolation being over is a dream, I am starting to feel insane from being inside all the time, Outside air is therapy from being inside Never talking to friends face to face is hard. Sitting inside all day is a nightmare, Understanding that isolation is important helps Can this coronavirus just go away, Kicking back and relaxing is great, Still praying that this Covid 19 goes away fast.

24.01.2022 Autism Walk Geelong would like to inform everyone that our annual walk will sadly be cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak. This decision has not been made... lightly, however protecting the health of our dedicated community members and their families who proudly attend our event year after year is the most important thing. We apologise & know you will all understand our decision. Please stay tuned for any updates as we would really love to get our community together later in the year. Stay safe everyone!

20.01.2022 An update from Meg... COVID Poem I made up. I actually posted this the other day, but I just made up a second verse. Over this.... Can we go out? Over this. Rendezvous for a meal or movie, etc? Over this. No, we can’t rendezvous for a meal, or movie etc. Aaarrrrrggghhhh!!! Viruses spread. I’m not dead. Rendezvous online. Us, we will be together again sometime, when we Stop that spread! Look out the window. Over this. Can we meet up for a meal or movie, etc? Keep calm and carry on. Don’t go there. Over this. When will this all be over? Not until we stop that spread.

15.01.2022 Here’s an iso poem from one of our talented young adults. ************************ Iso iso iso Thats the word... When you're sheltered from mainsteam socialisation Theres not much to do I'm saddened Terrified For what may come next As the corona virus has stricken many people I feel the world is heading for a particular meltdown The sanny is almost run out. I live in a family of 4 so I need more toilet paper The magpies have dawned a new birth The younger magpies or is it the older who are rubbing clean our supermarkets for new sheets of toilet paper I know people are afraid of the 'rona because the toilet paper is a metaphor for the needs and frights of people during this almost apocolyptic lockdown Many people think Greta is a joke but once iso has arrived on Australian shores no one thinks the same We are all scared Iso iso iso Thats the word When you're sheltered from mainstream society There's not much to do *************************************

02.01.2022 Untitled (Another covid-19 poem) Everyone panic Everyone grumble For the corona virus is here... Is it here to stay? Look around The shops where everyone has been quietly sitting down with some food, socializing and eating.. Has now been ransacked with people without meals Now I am without food Without toilet paper Theres germs on the wall Even on the ten fingers and palms of almost every human Maybe the threat has a death wish Because some people are dying from the corona virus Left and right and all over the planet Theres nothing anyone can do Except to self isolate We are not allowed to go out So we now have grumbling stomaches Only one person can go out But soon there will be no panic Is the corona virus here to stay? Don't panic for we will have a vaccine soon. -Jessica Madden
