19.01.2022 Venerating Trees: An AEGIS Seminar In late October, the Victorian government cut down an ancient Yellow Box tree to make way for a highway. Known to Australian Indigenous Djab Wurrung women as a sacred Directions Tree. Many wept as the tree was felled, & the media reported that police arrested around 50 people at the site. This tree was near to a group of trees where First Nations women gave birth: the main Birthing Tree is believed to be 800 years old, and like other trees a...re respected by Australia’s Traditional Owners. In homage to the sacred Directions Tree, this AEGIS seminar explores how two non-Traditional Australians have approached the life of trees.

10.01.2022 This iconic tree in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne, Victoria, met it’s fate just after Christmas, 2019. Ever since, the intrinsic, cultural heritage values have been celebrated more than ever, despite its loss.

09.01.2022 Just had to share this message from one of TREENET’s supporters: Wishing the TREENET UFF team every success and looking forward to this Thursday’s opening. Also wishing the key organisers: - small contractions as they give birth to this new format of our TREENET SYMPOSIUM;... buckets of gratitude for bringing this kind of initiative to the TREENET CHURCH; a bolt of confidence and enthusiasm to the TREENET PRESENTERS; the patience of Job to TREENET’s WALLFLY [event audio-visual tech team]; and an ants-nest of participation and networking to the UFF DELGATES, as they all bring their bits of magic to this iconic event.
